Advantages: Good coverage, light on skin

Disadvantages: Doesn't do what it says on the tin

I like to think of myself who doesn't really fall for those cheesy American make-up adverts telling us how much their products can change our lives for the better.

I must however, admit that I was pretty coerced by Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid's promises of an air-brushed and flawless finish.

I mean, the amount of times I've bought foundation that's sat on my face like a coat of paint...

So, before you know it, I had headed down to the chemist. (There was an introductory offer of £2 off- bonus!). I have very fair skin, so I opted for the Ivory (010) tone, which was the lightest one there.

I think the colour was still a little too dark for me at first, but there was no real problem as it blended in quickly and easily to match my skin tone. It felt light on my skin.

It also had a light, barely noticable scent, not unlike the smell of baby wipes, which was nice.

It made the apples of my cheeks have a slight reflective glow on them, which must have been shimmer. It was good because it didn't look too shiny or greasy, just subtle enough to be noticeable.

The coverage was good, and I found that there was no real need for concealer, as the foundation covered dark circles anyway.

However, it says on the bottle that it has the lightness of a mousse, but the liquid itself is thick. I failed to see any resemblance to mousse at all.

As for "air-brushed," and "flawless," well, I think the truth has been stretched a little there. It's a foundation after all, not Photoshop. It can only do so much.

It's £7.95 for 30ml, which in my opinion, is alright. But if you plan on using it every day, you'll find it goes quickly.

Summary: Air-brush? Use Photoshop. It's cheaper.
