Advantages: Hides those unwanted pores whilst providing a effortless and flawless finish
Disadvantages: Dont use too much! less is much better with this foundation
Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid air whipped foundation promised an air brushed finished and in my opinion this is exactly what i got.
I have quite open pores on my cheeks and nose which can be quite embarrassing because I do not have blackhead or spots in fact I have good healthy clear skin. I have tried several different foundations from a number of companies. Naively like a number of women I watched their advertisements and was instantly under the illusion that by switching to their foundation I could have the natural and smooth looking skin the models in the advertisement had. Unfortunately this is not the case.
I bought this from superdrug when it first came out because they had a really good offer on at the time.
To be honest I probably would have paid the full price for the foundation because I was really impressed with Maybelline's advert which showed that the foundation covered even the 'dimples' on a golf ball.
The foundation itself is light, fluffy and very easy to use due to the bottles squirty pump. The size of the bottle I bought is 30ml which i think is pretty standard for most foundations. I opted for the shade 'nude 021' as I have fair skin and as the bottle is clear you can actually see the colour of foundation you have chosen.
Unlike other foundations you do not need a lot of this foundation to achieve the perfect look. I generally apply it in two stages, using just a small amount on the tip of my finger for each stage. With my first attempt I was disappointed with the foundation because my skin looked greasy and oily, but after a few attempts I found out this was purely because I was using too much and trying to hard to hide my pores!
I know it may sound cheesy but I am so happy with my make up now and it has made me feel more confident when people are in close contact. Now my skin looks fresh and natural and even by fiance commented that i had changed something, in a good way! My mum hates people who wear a lot of makeup so she is my biggest critic but even when she was close up she said my skin looked flawless and effortless.
In my opinion she was right, this foundation is effortless to use and after spending so much time trying to find the right foundation it is a pleasure to recommend this product to others.
For those of you that suffer from less than imperfect skin or just want to wear a nice foundation that actually does make you look natural without wearing a lot, this is definitely the foundation from you.
I was lucky that I found the right shade of colour form the start, but this is not a problem because there are actually 8 different shades available for you to choose from.
When I first bought this I did trail around a few different shops looking for it and I found it was quite hard to come across but luckily it is now available in most shops and readily available on the internet and the prices have dramatically dropped.
Summary: A company that is actually providing what they promised
