Advantages: Great coverage

Disadvantages: Can be hard to squeeze just a tiny amount out

I bought this foundation about a month ago and I have been very impressed with it so far. It is from the Maybelline Satin Liquid range and currently costs £7.99. I bought mine from Boots but they are available in other chemists or supermarkets at a similar price. The selling point of this foundation is that it is meant to give you an 'air-brush' finish.

The foundation comes in a glass bottle which is about 4" tall. There is a clear plastic top which you need to pull off in order to use the foundation. It pulls off very easily (and pushes back on very easily too). The foundation comes out of the bottle via a pump dispenser but do be careful as it can come out quite freely. What I have found is that if you press the pump ever so slightly you can get a tiny smear on your finger of the foundation which for me is perfect. I prefer to get a little bit out at a time and rub it into one area of my face than getting a big splodge and dabbing it all over your face but that is just my way of doing it. The point is, a little goes a long way so be careful when you press the dispenser as to how much you want to come out.

The foundation rubs in very easily, I would have expected it to be thicker and less easy to rub in but the consistency is great for rubbing into your skin. As I said before, a little really does go a long way so I wouldn't apply too much if you don't want too heavy a coverage. However, if you do want a thicker coverage you can just use a bit more.

I always apply powder after foundation if I'm wearing it to set the look. When I have applied this foundation and used my powder it looks a lot better than other products I have used before. My skin looks very even and not dry at all, which it sometimes looks after I've put make up on. I'm not sure I would say an 'air-brush' finish but then again I use so little of it that I probably wouldn't achieve that kind of look with what I do.

It lasts a good time during the day as well. Normally I need something extra by mid afternoon and although I would still prefer to touch my face up with something by that time when I'm wearing this foundation, my skin looks better than it would with other products. I therefore think this has good staying power.

Overall I am very happy with my purchase and think for the price it is a great find. Definitely worth the money and a trial.

Summary: Great foundation, good coverage, reasonably priced
