Advantages: Easy to apply, runny yet blends in nicely, makes my skin look fantastic.

Disadvantages: None really.

Make up is something that I wear on a daily basis and have done for at least the last two years. I never used to be quite so worried about wearing make up regularly and preferred to do it on special occasions and when I wanted to really make a special effort. Now I've realised that I look much better with make up and I prefer to wear it on a daily basis as it makes me feel good about myself and I get lots of compliments too which is always nice. Foundation is a big part of my make-up collection as obviously I use this before I apply the rest of my make up and so I end up needing a tube of foundation every 2 or 3 months at least. Sometimes I find that I love a foundation for a few weeks and then suddenly I will see myself in a different light and realise that the tone doesn't suit me much so I tend to stick to the very very light end of the foundation scale with ivory and other light tones before my preferred one.

This particular foundation is one that I picked up in Boots when they have a special offer on Maybelline cosmetics. I paid £8.00 for this but received a mascara half price too from the Maybelline collection which was fantastic value really and ideal when I was trying to cut back and yet stock up my make up bag (all those Benefit products sting my purse). I picked up the ivory shade as I usually go for an ivory one where possible and feel that this is an accurate reflection of my skin tone and how I want a foundation to look. I have combination skin that can provide me with some problems and so I need a foundation that won't dry out on slightly dry skin and yet won't be shiny on my T zone where I sometimes get oiliness. There were numerous other colours available for different skin tones but I didn't struggle to choose mine as it was the lightest one on the scale.

This foundation comes in a glass bottle which is unusual compared to the other foundations I normally buy. It also has a pump action dispenser which again is incredibly different to most foundations I've used before. I loved both of these features and they probably swayed me in to making my purchase as a pump action dispenser is very handy. This pump is very simple to use as I can just pump this directly on to a make up sponge and then apply this to my face with ease.

This is quite a runny foundation but by using a make up sponge I have absolutely no problems at all with applying this to my skin. A small amount goes a long way with this and it applies and blends with my skin tone with ease. With the pump dispenser it is simple for me to get the right amount required without wastage or dripping it all over my clothes or my floors. The coverage of this is even and it looks fantastic against my skin. This does not dry out on the dry skin I have and it doesn't look shiny on my forehead either. My skin looks healthy and glowing when I am wearing this in a really positive way. I love how healthy my skin looks with this on and from the first day of wearing this the girls at work were complimenting my new foundation! Must have really made a difference! This works well at covering up spots and blemishes and it feels light on my skin too. This blends in easily to my face and there isn't any excess that dries up on my skin either which is fantastic.

I really feel that this is a fantastic foundation and I would happily recommend it. I have very pale skin and I rarely have a tan either so the ivory shade is perfect for my skin type. I do feel that this has been matched well to my particular skin tone and this seems to be suitable for my combination style skin too. If you have bad skin with lots of blemishes then you're going to want to use a cover stick or something else to cover them over before using this but in general I have found that I can use this on my own if I want to. I found no problems with blemishes occurring after using this but then I always make sure I remove my make up at the end of every evening and cleanse, tone and moisturise too.

Summary: A satin smooth foundation from Maybelline.
