Advantages: Good staying power, nice colours

Disadvantages: slightly expensive

I have been using Maybelline Expert Wear eye shadow for about six months now, and alongside Boots No.7 stay perfect eye shadows, this is one of my favourites.

~About the product~

This eye shadow comes in pressed powder form, and is available in a range of 14 different shades. The shadows are available in mono or duo form, I have a mono one, which is named 'rose tint' and is a pale pink colour.

~Packaging~

The shadow comes in a dark blue plastic case, with a clear slightly domed lid, which is hinged at the top to flip open. It has the Maybelline logo across the middle, and is quite a simple design. There is no applicator or brush included with this, which personally I think is a good thing, as I don't find many of the free applicators you get to be very good, and prefer to use a proper eye shadow brush.

~Using it~

The powder is very fine, and I sometimes find that I have to sweep my brush over it a few times to pick up a decent amount of colour, although it is possible that this could be due to the pale colour I selected.
The powder is quite silky and glides on easily - it is also not too powdery - by that, I mean that when you apply it you don't get most of it falling on your cheeks.

~Results~

The powder gives good coverage, the one I have is quite shimmery, so I wouldn't say it gives a natural look, but great for nights out. The best thing about this product is definitely it's staying power. Apparently it has 'colour-cling technology' whatever that may be, but it really does last and I have never once had a problem with it creasing.

~Price~

The price of this product seems to vary depending on where you shop. Superdrug sell this for £3.49, whereas Boots charge a ridiculously high £5.99. I'm not saying that it's not worth the price Boots charge, because I would be happy to pay that, however I don't know how they justify charging nearly double for it.

~Overall Verdict~

This is a great eye shadow that lasts for ages, and like I said, one of my favourites. I am trying really hard to cut back on the amount I spend on beauty products, however next time I need a new eye shadow, this is a range I wouldn't hesitate to use again - but I'll know to go to Superdrug to buy it and not Boots!

Summary: Great eye shadow
