Advantages: Quick and Easy
Disadvantages: Small shade range
Yes three into one will go with this stick that is a concealer, foundation and powder. I have been trying the new shine control formula, that is suitable for oily or combination skins. Was my face red? It has been in the past with foundations that have made my sensitive complexion red and itchy, but with this one I kept my cool. I doesn't have a strong perfume, in fact it doesn't smell of anything really, it is hypo allergenic and promises not to clog your pores. The oil free formula is aimed at skins that are oily or have a tendency to shine on the forehead and nose. It has a sun protection factor of 15, which is good to have even in the winter months, as sunlight is very ageing. It gives a light coverage, just enough to even out the skintone without looking false, and blends well. They recommend that you dot on extra in oily areas to control the shine. I found it worked and lasted well, but you do need to reapply for an evening out. I also found that although oil free it was not too drying and didn't make the drier areas of my face crack up. This is probably due to it containing moisturising aloe and vitamins E and A. It comes in a 9ml stick, like a large lipstick. The three shades available are Buff, Nude and Cameo. I chose Nude as my skin is pale to medium. Unlike many foundations it is not very orange or pink, it seems to have a slightly yellow base. The colours are not suitable for women with darker skins, as they are all a variation on beige. As a concealer I found it wasn't as effective as a specialist product, but it did blend dark circles under the eyes( too much internet) a little. Maybelline is available in supermarkets and chemists all over the country. The best price I have found is £6.99 in the supermarket. This seems a lot for a little stick, but I estimate that it will last for two or three months. It does live up to it's express name as it is very quick and
easy to apply, and gives a nice natural looking day foundation.
