Advantages: Retractable; soft; cheap
Disadvantages: Fades; can look harsh if not smudged
Having read the other reviews on this eyeliner, I was surprised to see that some of the views on this eyeliner were rather negative.
I have been using this eyeliner for a few months now but I have to say that I think it was spirited into my make-up bag by some mysterious force as I have NO recollection of buying it!
It is available in 3 colours - Intense Black, Brown, and Emerald Green. Mine is the Intense Black, and it is a thin black pencil with silver writing down the side of it.
The main thing about this eyeliner is that it has a retractable crayon so there's no need for a sharpener. All you need to do is wind the top of it to reveal the crayon and away you go. It means you don't hurt your eye with jaggy bits of wood that can stick out from regular wooden eyeliner pencils.
The crayon itself is soft, and stays that way when you retract it, so there's no need to sit and roll it between your fingers to soften it like you do with some eyeliners. It is so soft that it goes on in one smooth fluid line on your eyelids.
The crayon is quite thin so you do get a very precise and relatively narrow layer of eyeliner on your lids. This is good if you like that look, but I find that a precise line looks quite harsh on me - I much prefer a smudgy look, like kohl pencils can give you. Luckily the crayon is soft so it's not too hard to smudge it.
As you can see I have said a few times now that the crayon is soft - which also sadly means the eyeliner 'bleeds' throughout the day and I do find that when I wear it to work, by the time lunchtime comes, I am wearing a lot less eyeliner. It fades throughout the day; however I would say that it doesn't fade to the extent that you need to completely reapply it. Another quick sweep across your lids normally does the trick, if one is needed at all.
The eyeliner is removed easily with cleanser although that maybe shows its lack of durability.
I like this eyeliner though. It is good for daily wear - if you're anything like me you don't worry too much about your make-up in work, so the fact that it 'bleeds' doesn't bother me too much. For a night out I would much rather wear Urban Decay's 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil, as it lasts a lot longer.
This retails at around £3.25 - it's pretty cheap and definitely worth a try.
Summary: A good day to day eyeliner with a handy retractable crayon
