Advantages: Very striking, makes eyelashes look a lot longer instantly

Disadvantages: Did irritate my eyes quite a bit

At first, I really fell in love with this mascara. It made my eyelashes look longer and more striking than they'd ever looked before, and my eyes really stood out because of it. I genuinely thought it was the mascara I'd been looking for pretty much ever since I hit puberty.

And it is, kind of. I've certainly never found another brand that is so effective in making my eyes 'pop', and when I use it, I instantly look better -more like I'd like to look all the time, in fact (I'm the girl whose eyes shrink to the size of peas in photos, and whose forehead looks huge because her eyes are so small). After a couple of weeks of using this product, however, I found that it really began to irritate my eyes, to the extent that they felt dry and sore all the time. Can you have sensitive eyeballs? I don't know. If you think you might, though, this product probably isn't for you.

I also found that the mascara was quite clumpy after a couple of uses, and that the tube didn't last very long. In addition to this, the mascara tends to rub off after a while - or at least, I think that's what happens: certainly, the initial striking effect is lost after a couple of hours. This definitely isn't a product that would keep your eyelashes looking luxuriant and attractive all day long.

To be fair, there are a lot of good points to this mascara. A lot of my friends use it and love it, it's relatively cheap if not necessarily great value (£7.99 in boots, but it's often on offer or part of a promotion), and it's pretty waterproof even though it's not specifically marketed as a waterproof mascara. It's also really quick and easy to remove, which is great after a long night out. The curved brush shapes means that the mascara is very easy to apply without smudging/stabbing yourself in the eye- always a bonus!

These days, I use this product when I'm on a night out and want to look my best (it works particularly well in conjunction with eyelash curlers, and is a lot less clumpy if you use several strokes as opposed to just one or two), but avoid it for everyday use.

Summary: Fab for going out, not so great for every day use
