WHY I PURCHASED
I bought Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in Boots as part of a multi buy deal. I seem to but most of my make-up in Boots these days and I suppose this is because I often have offers for this store sent to me as I, like many, have an advantage card.
I didn’t read the hype on this concealer; I needed to buy a new concealer stick so I saw this and bought it along with other Maybelline items included in the offer.
It’s supposed to be natural, breathable and fresh containing no oils or waxes.
It has a translucent base with low pigmentation which means it should give a natural appearance on the skin.
I have used this concealer to hide imperfections and to improve the look of my skin. It can be used over foundation for extra camouflage on problem areas or, if requiring a natural look then this concealer works well added directly onto the skin to cover any flaws. A light dusting of face powder over the top works well or it can be blended into the face on its own.
It’s also intended for use under the eyes to conceal dark shadows and for brightening up one’s complexion.
I purchased this in the light shade (10) but I would say that although it is light it seems to me to be darker than light shades, which I thought would be the same, with other brands I of similar style liquid concealers that I've purchased.
It isn't too dark but I prefer the match I achieve with Collection Illuminating Touch Concealer.
The Fit Me concealer is applied with a small shaped sponge. I prefer a tapered brush.
Once applied it does its job and it overs and blends quite well.
I would say that it is a decent product although not my favourite concealer.
It's handy to keep in one's make-up bag.
I feel that at £5.99 it is a little overpriced and I would not pay more than four pounds for it if it was bought alone. As an offer it doesn't work out too badly if you shop wisely but I still think that any price over five pounds is a bit steep.
It is readily available and can be purchased from:
Chemist Direct £5.09
Maybelline Fit Me concealer is:
Non-comedogenic (oil free)
I used to get comments from friends pointing out my cakey concealer (which, by the way, didn't match me either) so one day I got sick of it and took a trip to the drugstore, on a mission to find the perfect concealer. After half an hour of swatching, I found shade 15 of this concealer to be a pretty good match both in undertone and shade, and the fact that it was on sale for about 4€ kind of made my decision for me.
The packaging is nothing out of the ordinary for the drugstore. To me, it doesn't look cheap or easily breakable, in fact it has just about the same packaging as the Nars Creamy Concealer. However, if there's something that I despise about this product is its doe-foot applicator. Being the germ-freak and former acne sufferer that I am, the thought of putting something that's touched my face back in that tube makes me cringe. I try to wipe it off before putting the wand back in the tube but, let's be honest, it doesn't always happen. If only it would come in a sanitary squeezy tube...
The texture is lightweight and silky, but not greasy. What I usually do is I put it first on one half of my face and then, on the other. By the time I go to blend out the first half, the concealer is more consistent and it blends into my skin like a dream. The finish is not matte nor dewy but just skin-like.
One downside to this is that the coverage is quite sheer. It won't cover up dark circles (at least for me, the blue hues always show through but I always use a corrector anyway, so it doesn't bother me) and it doesn't hold up for long on big pimples (you may want to use something a little less liquidy on those). However, my main concerns are acne scars and some redness in the nose area and it takes care of all that just fine while looking amazingly like skin.
In the lasting power department, I'd say it's decent for a liquid. I have dry skin and it last about 8 hours without setting it with powder (after that it's not all gone, but my scars start to poke through) and about a whole normal day if I set it. If your skin is oily, I think it should last fine as long as you do set it, but I have seen people saying that it makes them look greasy after a few hours, so you may want to pass up on this one.
Since I started using this, I've not once gotten a comment regarding my concealer but, surprinsingly, I did get one about my skin looking really good. Thar pretty convinced me fhat this concealer is virtually undetectable on the skin, so if you don't have major skin concerns and you want to look like you just woke up with perfectly clear skin, give this a try!

I''ve tried numerous concealers over the years and tend to struggle to find something of the right consistency and light enough for my pale skin. I gave Fit Me concealer a go having found it quite cheaply on eBay and was very pleasantly surprised to find it''s probably been the best one I''ve used in a while!
The concealer comes in a transparent tube with black top; this twists and is the ?handle'' for the sponge ?wand'' at the end. I''ve had ?pen'' type concealers before and ones like crayons, but find this sponge applicator is really good for dabbing just a small amount on and getting a far better consistency than that of a crayon.
This comes in a few different shades, all with numbers and a name of the shade. It didn''t make much sense to me, however. Don''t assume that 10 Light is actually the lightest or best for pale skin. 15 Fair has a slightly pinker, rather than sandy/yellow tone, so is probably the best for pale skin. I have super pale skin and this has been great.
Fit Me is Maybelline''s first ?gel concealer made with no waxes or fillers''. It''s designed to cover imperfections without being light or ?cakey'' so that it gives a natural and breathable finish. It also claims to have an ?exclusive translucent base and lightweight pigments allow skin''s natural highs and lows to show through''. It is, of course, dermatologically tested and fragrance-free too, which is always reassuring to know. To use, you just dab a small amount from the sponge tip on to the area you wish to cover, and gently blend in with your finger. Quick and easy.
The concealer has quite a creamy consistency that''s just the right thickness; it''s smooth enough to glide over skin whilst giving adequate coverage. It doesn''t ?cake'' on skin or appear flakey at all either, which I was very happy about. The result is quite a light concealer that''s smooth enough to dab on here and there and blends in very quickly and easily. I found that just a small amount covered spots easily, making them far less noticeable. A few small dabs under my eyes were enough for me to blend them in and make the dark circles under my eyes appear less vivid and actually left my eye area looking a bit lighter and more radiant ? must be those ?lightweight pigments''!
Overall, I have been really impressed by Fit Me concealer, especially as I usually have trouble finding one that blends well without being cakey and that''s light enough for my pale skin.
I have tried all the products from this line, Fit Me!, so it's time for my two cents on the concealer.
My shade is #15 and it's a perfect match for the undereye area, as it's slightly pink.
One the main selling points for me was the colour range, as I was finally able to find a very nice match for my pale complexion.
The concealer is no exception.
The product itself comes in a slim packaging, with a doefoot applicator which allows a very precise application and avoids waisting product.
It has a quite liquidy texture but it's not sheer at the point it doesn't provide any coverage at all; in fact, I find it does cover dark circles pretty well and blends nicely into the skin without being either too transparent or too thick.
If you have very dark undereye circles tho, you might still need to put a peachy corrector first and then use the Fit Me concealer to brighten up the area.
Otherwise, it works perfectly.
It's not amazing when it comes to cover blemishes or very stubborn and noticeable spots tho, as the texture is not thick enough to stay as opaque as you might need; I still prefer a more creamy and thick product like my MAC Studio Finish concealer. Plus, this pinkish shade is not the most suitable for this purpose.
Anyways, I use it sometimes for minor spots, if I don't need a lot of coverage and I want to be quick. It still works nicely, although it doesn't give a completely flawless complexion.
It stays put for hours, but it's not waterproof or marked as long-lasting, so water, sweat or humidity might melt it unless you set it.
I like to apply it with my fingertips, for a kind of soft focus finish, as it blurs the area you want to conceal; but I also like to use the so-called 'foundation brush' from the CrownBrush HD set..
Overall, I'm very pleased with this product as well as the others I tried from the Fit Me line and I totally recommend it.
The price point is affordable too, and that's another pro.

I bought this concealer after reading favorable reviews online. Many of these reviews compared it to the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer, but at £21 I thought this was a bit expensive and decided to try the cheaper version. Well, I am not impressed.
First off, let me say that I bought this concealer online so the colour choice wasn't my fault. I stupidly assumed that a big brand like Maybelline would cater for a large range of skin tones. I have very pale skin and am usually the palest shade in most makeup brands, so I opted for the lightest colour. However, when I opened it looked very dark, almost brown coloured. I persevered trying it, in case it just looked darker in the packaging, but to my disappointment, when I tried it on it made my under eyes look orange. Certaintly not a look I'm going for. Though trial and error, I found a way of blending it in with my foundation to look like such a stark contrast, but it's definitely not something I can apply in a hurry as I have to blend it in a lot.
The concealer does give good coverage but the shade range is appalling, if this is the lightest colour. If you can find a shade that matches you, this might be a good concealer to try, but for fair skinned ladies, stay away!
I like to try new concealer and my recent purchased is maybeline fit me concealer in colour 20 which is lighter than my skin tone. I love the second I put it on my face, I usually put underneath my eye,to cover my under eyes circle, and on the blemishes if I have one on the day, the coverage was so good that I don't have to build up the foundation and sometimes I just put concealer before I go out and that's me I'm done and ready to go. The concealer does not build up oil underneath the eyes which is very good and you don't see the concealer smudge throughout the day.the concealer is affordable and last for ages, mine I have used it for almost 3months now. I highly recommend this maybeline fit me concealer to every women, you can cover your acne and under eyes circle with the maybeline fit me concealer, comes with 3 different shades, for fair skin, tan skin and dark skin.
I tend to get on well with Maybelline products so I was keen to try one of their Fit Me Concealers. It was a product I had seen reviewed well in magazines and the description of a product that provided good coverage that was still natural looking appealed to me. It is supposed to leave your natural radiance shining through which sounds better than those products that make your skin look dull or cakey. I normally go for the palest shade of make up, but on this occasion I chose the next one up - no. 15, "fair" as the lightest did not look quite right. It was slightly too yellow/orange toned in my opinion. There's 6 shades to choose from in all, and I paid £5.99 for a 6.8ml mascara like tube. Fit Me has matching powder and foundation products but I did not use these.
EASY TO APPLY?
The Fit Me concealer applicator is sponge tipped and looks like a lip gloss wand. It is soft enough to feel comfortable under the eyes where I wanted to use it most and the handle is just about the right size to make manipulating it easy. The tip delivers a good amount of product where you need it, ready for blending with my fingertips. I thought the consistency was just right - not too thin or drippy but quick and easy to blend. It has rather a creamy feel that still feels nice and light on the skin. As far as first impressions go, it was perfect. Colour wise, I feel I made a good choice to suit my skin because it didn't require more blending to look right.
UNDER EYE CIRCLES
As the concealer seems creamy and very slightly thick as a result, I have been surprised that the coverage is as sheer as it is. I definitely do not regard this as more than a light or at a pinch, medium coverage product. On my under eye circles, it veers more towards the latter. When the dark circles are slight, there is enough coverage when the concealer is used with powder and foundation ( I used Max Factor and NYC ones), for me to be satisfied. However, on the few occasions they are really dark, this concealer struggles to disguise them at all well. I sometimes like to go bare faced except for a concealer under the eyes when my skin is in otherwise good shape, and there are several products I can use then that work well enough alone, but Fit Me doesn't come close to being one of those. Building up the concealer has some effect but I don't see the point when I can just reach for a different more effective product. I know the finish has been designed to allow natural radiance through, but if the dark circles also show, what's the point? Sadly even the coverage that is there doesn't last all day for me.
ON SPOTS AND REDNESS
I have found that Fit Me doesn't work at well on actual spots. It doesn't provide enough disguise however I blend it and with whatever products I combine it with. Some appearance of redness is gone but not enough. On the red skin left around my nose after a cold, it did a better job but I had to use quite a lot and once again the effects didn't last all day by a long shot.
THE PLUS SIDE
I been using the concealer up disguising a few large pores around my nose on the days I am not using foundation. It does a good job at that where there is no uneven colour to disguise. It doesn't leave my skin feeling dried out and it doesn't clog those troublesome pores more than average. The finish isn't cakey and the easy blend texture makes a nice smooth finish that does look reassuringly natural. It isn't quickly obvious where I have used it, even up close. If the coverage was more complete I would love the results on my skin, so it is a shame it isn't more effective at dealing with the areas I need it to. I also like the fact that it doesn't make my skin look shiny where it has been applied as many creamy or liquid ones do for me. This means that I don't have to apply powder over top if I don't otherwise need to to help the coverage or staying power.
It also comes off easily, using normal wipes or remover oil. I don't have sensitive skin, so whilst I didn't find this product at all irritating, don't take that as a recommendation if you do.
WOULD I RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT?
If you can get away with using a light coverage product and want one that looks natural as well easy to blend I would recommend this as in that case you wouldn't need to use a lot and it would be good value. I wouldn't recommend it to those looking for all day coverage, or for those such as myself looking for a more medium coverage. It doesn't perform well as several cheaper products for me when it comes to under eye circles so any benefits of letting my natural radiance shine through in those circumstances are a bit muted. Similarly, it doesn't disguise blemishes enough for me. I am happy to use up the rest as I have described above but I won't replace the tube when it runs out as I don't think of it as anything special.
***Why I want the product***
I am a concealer junkie, I have dark circles and redness that I prefer to be covered every day. I also have the odd blemish and spot now that I defiantly liked to be covered. I have been through a lot of concealers due to them not coming up to my expectations; they can either be too sheer in consistency, too dark or difficult to apply into the skin making it look unnatural. Low end concealers also tend to look orange on me instead of brightening the under eye area or covering something that I want hidden.
After my previous under eye concealer ran out I wanted to replace it but also find a new concealer at the same time. After searching long and hard and reading reviews I decided to try the new Maybelline Fit Me Concealer.
***About Fit Me Concealer***
Maybelline say their Fit Me Concealer is a flawless concealer that allows the real you to still shine through. It is breathable, fresh and natural looking.
Great for all skin types as it contains no oils, waxes and Maybelline also say no nonsense. It provides you with a translucent base that is lightweight to allow the pigment and your natural skin to shine through while providing great coverage.
Fit Me Concealer is available in six shades that range from number 15 (Fair all the way to number 30 (Cafe).
This concealer comes in the same packaging like other concealers on the market. You are greeted with a 6.8ml rectangle see through tube with an opaque shiny back screw off top. The packaging looks neutral, sleek and simple.
The lid screws off easily and the attached wand is the whole length of the tube so you can get every last bit of product out. The sponge applicator is soft without being scratchy or bitty.
***Applying the product, and how it feels***
There is no fragrance at all associated with this concealer, which is perfect for under eye application. Even though I have shade 15, which I believe is their lightest shade it is not as light as I would have liked. It is also a little pinker than my regular concealer that is yellow toned that matches my skin tone more. But I find because I am only using this concealer primarily under my eyes the pink undertone helps to conceal dark circles better.
Taking the wand out I am glad to see the concealer looks creamy and not too runny with it being a liquid as if it was too runny I would think it would not conceal anything.
Taking the concealer to the back of my hand this is where I can see just how creamy is it and also the pink undertone to my yellow undertones is noticeable. My only concern is I hope it does not oxidise orange throughout the day like some cheap concealers do but more so in foundations.
My dark circles are dark due to hereditary reasons and lack of sleep (and not one for trying) so by the time I wake up my eye area can look a lot worse, I also look ill if I do not wear concealer, even on no makeup days. I have used solid or creamier concealers in the past for my under eyes and always find them to be too drying and unable to blend smoothly into my skin making that area looks even worse than it all ready is.
Using my concealer brush instead of the wand to apply to my under eye area I like how smoothly Fit Me glides on my skin. Even though it's slightly darker than my skin tone but more of a pink undertone as soon as I have blended it in my skin it looks flawless and the colour just seems to match. As the concealer is more of a liquid the coverage is also good but does require two light coats for me but when I have the second coat on the coverage is better but not brilliant as my dark circles are slightly visible. It feels very lightweight on my skin that feels like I have nothing on.
When I've finished I notice the concealer looks shiny and if left can creep into any laughter lines or just crease up naturally with facial movement it is also easy to transfer if not set. Setting this concealer with power is a must to stop this from happening.
I have tried to conceal the off spot with this blemish as well with bad results. As the concealer in pink toned and I am yellow toned even when blended I can see the line where the concealer is, you can tell I have it on and you can tell it does not match. It also does not help that because it is so sheer I have to apply around three light coats in order to cover the spot adequately and to take away the redness. The end result is it looks cakey, patchy and darker than the rest of my face. I think I will stick to my regular concealer for my face.
***How did it feel throughout the day?***
I usually start applying makeup in the morning around 7:15/7:30am and I do not touch up my concealer through the day at all, never have. I still find even after seven or more hours of wear the concealer is still firmly in place although a little has faded it is nothing to complain about. It has never dried or irritated my eye area at all or crease into any lines after I've set it with power. Usually with other liquid concealers they crease through the day even if I've set it and end up swiping it to get rid of the lines. I've never had to do that with Fit Me concealer and I have used it every single day for the past six weeks of use.
***How easy is it to remove?***
I use a cream eye makeup remover and find Fit Me is easily removed but I do have to go over the same area a few times to make sure all is removed. However, if use an oil makeup remover it is removed within one swipe.
***Price and availability***
You can purchase this concealer from boots.com or other beauty stores for around £5.99.
If you like Fit Me Concealer you can also purchase Fit Me Foundation and Powder in your colour range.
***What I think about it/do I like it?***
To say I normally do not like cheaper concealer due to oxidising, drying, no coverage, fading through the day...the list goes on. Fit Me Concealer is surprising very good I feel for the money. It has never turned orange on me believe it or not. Never dried out my eye area, only fades slightly and has great coverage to say it is so lightweight. The only bad thing is I would not use it on my face, it has to be a concealer for my eye area only.
***Would I purchase again?***
I would like to say yes I would re-purchase but I also feel there are brands out there within the same price bracket that provides more coverage than Fit Me, which is sheer and the fact I cannot use it on my face means I have ti purchase a separate concealer. So I doubt I will be re-purchasing but it still is a good concealer for the money.
~*~*~ Maybelline Fit Me Concealer ~*~*~
I only tend to use concealer if I have bags under my eyes or if I have a spot, which luckily is not on a daily basis. I find it difficult to find a concealer which actually conceals. Concealers I have used in the past normally highlight the area, rather than cover it up. I decided to purchase this concealer as there was a 3 for 2 offer on Maybelline cosmetics, so I picked up this concealer, pressed powder and foundation all from the 'Fit Me' range. I really likes the ideal of matching a foundation to a concealer and pressed powder. I had very high hopes for the 'Fit Me' range. Please see below for my thoughts on this concealer...
~*~*~ What Is It? ~*~*~
This is a concealer by Maybelline, which comes in 6 different shades: Fair, Medium, Sand, Cafe, Light and Deep. This concealer comes in a thin plastic tube, a bit like a lip gloss, and it has a plastic, screw-top lid. Attached to the lid is the wand which has a soft, sponge applicator (also similar to a lip gloss). The body of the tube is transparent, so you can see how much concealer you have left, and the lid is black. On the lid, in silver writing, which say's 'FIT me!', and on the tube, in black writing, is the shade number. The tube holds 6.8ml of concealer.
To apply, you simply dot the applicator onto blemish, or under the eyes, and pat with your finger to blend.
This concealer's claims:
-No oils, no waxes, no nonsense
-Natural coverage which is fresh, breathable and natural
-Exclusive translucent base and lightweight pigments allow skin's natural highs and lows to show through
-Non-comedogenic, dermatologist-tested, ophthalmologist-tested, fragrance-free
Maybelline brought out the 'Fit Me' range of products to match women's complexions perfectly. The range consists of foundations, concealers and pressed powders. The ideal is you match your skin tone to the foundation which has a number, i.e. 220, and then you can purchase the matching concealer and powder from the same number. In theory the three items should work together in perfect harmony to make your skin look flawless. To good to be true I hear you say?...
~*~*~ Price And Availability ~*~*~
You can purchase this concealer from Boots for £5.99, where it is currently on a 'buy 1 get the 2nd one half price' offer. This can also be found at Superdrug and most supermarkets (which sell cosmetics).
~*~*~ My Thoughts ~*~*~
When I first purchased my foundation, concealer and powder I could not wait to try them. As mentioned above, I only use concealer sparingly for when I have tired looking eyes, or a blemish I wish to cover. Before using this concealer I applied primer to my face and then dotted the concealer under my eyes. I then used my finger to work the concealer into the skin. I found the wand applicator very easy to use, the sponge on the end of the concealer is soft and reminds me of a lip gloss applicator. Once I rubbed the concealer under my eyes I stared in the mirror to admire the concealer coverage. Unfortunately the admiration did not last long. All under my eyes were streaky, oily, orange patches.
This concealer had not covered anything, in fact it made the area under my eyes look worse. It was tacky to the touch and left skin looking orange and shiny. I would like to put this down to me picking the wrong shade, but I can't because the lady in Boots helped me pick the shade. I have medium skin so I went for the medium shade, if I had choosen fair than it would have been to light. I think there needs to be a shade between fair and medium, which does not have orange tones.
Like the foundation, I found this concealer to be a disappointment. It cost £5.99, which is not the cheapest for a concealer, and it was a complete waste of money. I am finding it difficult to thing of any good points to make about this concealer.
~*~*~ Would I Recommend? ~*~*~
Unless you are a Umpa Lumpa, than no, I would most definitely not recommend this concealer. I have used stick concealers which cost £1.00 to be a lot better than this. Avoid this concealer at all costs. I am giving this concealer 1 out of 5 Dooyoo stars. If I could have given it 0, than I would have. Do not waste your money.
Thank you for taking the time to read my review :o)
I bought this as an emergency purchase as I normally use one of the cheapest concealers on the market - natural collection's stick concealer. However there wasn't one in stock in every shop I looked and I needed something quick. I thought I'd give this a go because I had heard about the fit me range and I was excited to try something a bit more upmarket as I expected better results than my £1.99 stick. Priced at £5.99 I was hopefully investing in something worth the money. Sadly this wasn't.
The product is in a strong rectangular plastic tube with a sponge applicator. Simply unscrew the black lid and it pulls out the wand. The concealer is liquidy compared to the stick I am used to using. I thought I matched the colour of my skin to the correct number but after applying it appeared I didn't. It gave the blemish an orangey tinge and it was quite obvious it was on. It was like applying a highlighter to my face and saying "HERE'S MY SPOT". So sadly the fit me concealer did not 'fit me'. This might be because I am so pale I wonder why I am not a red head.
However coverage was excellent and it is easy to blend. It lasts all day and you do not need to reapply. Basically it is all I want in a concealer except the shade didn't match me. The colour charts which advertise the range are very confusing so if the shops provide testers, use them! They were unavailable to me at the time and this is where I became unstuck.
Overall, I will not be purchasing this concealer again but I wouldn't not recommend you trying out. Just make sure you choose carefully in the shop and make sure you try all the testers regardless of what the colour chart tells you as i can be quite confusing with so many colours in the Fit Me range. The concealer had good coverage and lasted. I just think personally I would prefer a stick or something dryer in consistency to cover spots. It doesn't cake on your skin and it does leave your skin looking smooth and less red. I tend to use this product under my eyes as it doesn't make my eyes feel dry like some other concealers and it doesn't make the area look too orange.
Hope this helped.
I have been using the Maybelline Fit Me foundation since just before Christmas, I am really happy with the results and it is now my firm favourite. I normally have fairly clear skin but occasionally I do get a blemish or too which foundation alone isn't enough to cover. I purchased this on offer for £3 in Asda. I bought the shade recommended to match my foundation which was 20 which I would say is light to medium. I think the full price of this is around £5 so I thought it was good value. In a tube there is 6.8ml.
The concealer comes in a tube with a screw lid which the tube has an applicator sponge which you use to apply the concealer. I previously used a stick concealer which I prefer as the life on this concealer is only 6 months compared to 24 months on my stick concealer. My main concern was that I could transfer germs into the tube whereas with a stick concealer I use a small brush to apply which I then wash.
The concealer as with the foundation does not contain any waxes or fillers. It is said to provide natural coverage it has a translucent base and lightweight pigments it is also non-comedogenic, dermatologist-tested, ophthalmologist-tested, fragrance-free.
To use the concealer the directions recommend that you pat on to the desired area and blend with your finger. I used this over my foundation as it provides a medium coverage which wasn't sufficient alone. The concealer is slightly thicker than a normal foundation and I needed to blend it a lot with my finger. I then finished with the powder from the same range to cover my blemish.
I can't say I was overly thrilled with the results it didn't cover as much as I needed it too. I have also tried it under my eyes but again there \I found the coverage too thick.
I wouldn't personally recommend this and it isn't something that I would consider purchasing again.
A few weeks ago I ran out of my Lacura Concealer Pen which served me well and gave me very little to complain about. Unfortunately this concealer is only available at Aldi, my closest store being rather awkward for me to get to. Concealer for me is a must and it's the only make-up item I do wear every single day thus I couldn't be doing without it for a few days while I found the time to make the long trip to my nearest Aldi! Instead I took a trip to Superdrug on my way back from work and came back with this Maybelline Fit Me Concealer.
Before switching to the Lacura Concealer I used a different Maybelline one which I was also rather fond of and did have intentions of repurchasing this one. The new Maybelline 'Fit Me' range caught my eye immediately though and I decided to try this one instead. This concealer was a little bit cheaper and offered me the chance the try something new, as it was from Maybelline - a brand I fully trust and really like when it comes to foundation and concealer - I didn't hesitate to try it out and was pretty sure my experience with the product would be a good one.
The concealer is a sponge applicator one, something I haden't used in quite a long time as these concealer pens seem to be taking over now! It comes in a clear plastic rectangular tube with a black screw off lid. Unscrewing the lid reveals the sponge applicator on the end of the wand attached. You get 6.8ml of concealer for £5.99 which I am more than happy to pay for a decent concealer. The Fit Me range is quite new and so far I've only seen it in Superdrug and Boots (neither have yet to add this range to their website though). There is also a liquid foundation, blush, bronzer and pressed powder in this range.
The idea behind this range is that the shades will match your skin tone perfectly if you simply follow the flow chart which is usually displayed next to these make-up items in store. To find your perfect shade of concealer you decide if your skin tone is fair, medium or dark and then if it has yellow or pink undertones. The chart will then tell you what number your perfect shade is, mine being 15 (fair skin with pink undertones). The concealer comes in six different shades 10 and 15 being for fair skin, 20 and 25 for medium toned skin and 30 and 35 for dark skin. I will admit I was very trusting in this flow chart and didn't even bother to look at the testers in store, I just picked up the shade the chart indicated was right for me and took it to the till!
Thankfully, this shade does in fact suit my skin tone perfectly so the chart was correct in this instance! Having said that, there are eighteen shades in the liquid foundation and I think I'd definitely be trying out some testers in that one if I were to purchase it! If there are only two shades available for fair skin though, like with this concealer, it's going to be pretty difficult to pick up a shade which doesn't match my skin tone, in all fairness shade 10 probably would of have looked fine as well.
When it comes to using the concealer it's a pretty quick and easy task. The sponge doesn't collect too much concealer so I can just pat it onto the areas I want to cover without having to worry about applying too much. It's then a simple case of dabbing with my finger to blend in.
I find this concealer blends really well and requires very little effort or time. It covers even better. After applying this my dark circles under my eyes have completely vanished, little blemishes disappear and those larger, harder to cover spots are left looking a lot less red and noticeable. I have a few little scars just above my nose between my eyebrows which I am quite conscious of (in fact these are the reason I wear concealer everyday) and this product covers those completely too. The coverage is excellent but only little product is needed to receive this so my face never feels clogged up and the concealer never looks caked on.
I do feel this would be much better if it lasted longer though. It still lasts a decent amount of time and I reckon I can wear this for about six hours before it starts wearing off, the problem is my days last longer than six hours and so I end up feeling as though I need to top this up. Of course this is easily done due to the size of the concealer tube and the application method it'd just be much nicer to not have to!
This is easy to remove using just a wipe or with my full cleansing and toning regime and getting this off causes me no problem whatsoever. It hasn't had any negative effects on my sensitive skin nor has it caused me to break out.
If this lasted just a few hours more I'd be happy to give it five stars but as I do end up topping up almost every day I'll give it four stars instead. This is, however, the only downfall in my opinion as the coverage is superb and it does still last a decentish amount of time. It's a good price and there are shades to suit just about everyone.
Natural coverage that leaves skin the way it was meant to be...fresh breathing and natural / Exclusive translucent base and lightweight pigments allow skin's natural highs and lows to show through / No oils no waxes no nonsense.
