This is one of my absolute favourite lip glosses. It has a nice, pretty sheen, subtle shimmer, and really pretty sheer colours. The flavours are pretty good and not too strong. Some people have said that it's too sticky, but I think that it's a good amount: sticky enough to last a while so you don't have to constantly reapply, but not so sticky that it looks like you've coated your lips in honey and I can blot my lips without tissue getting stuck on the gloss. I own several tubes of Maybelline Fruity Jelly Lip Gloss in different colours. I would recommend it to girls with thinner lips as the gloss makes the lips appear fuller. Overall its a good, affordable, long lasting lipgloss that gives you that gorgeous shine without leaving you sticky and smelly. It's very good for everyday use as its cheap and easy to carry around in your pocket or purse.
I used to use these lip glosses before I discovered a much more expensive, (but worth the extra tenner) alternative. I now prefer to use Lancome's juicy tubes and find that this is the ideal fruity gloss out there.
So anyway, Maybelline's fruity jelly comes in a range of different shades. I believe there are about 6 or 8 different colours to choose from. I used to buy the pink strawberry shade and the clear white one. These glosses come in clear plastic tubes that show the product inside. They smell like fruit and apply quite smoothly.
I thought that the glosses felt quite heavy and sticky on my lips and I didn't like the way that it would gather in a sticky goo in the centre of my lips near my teeth. No matter how I applied it, even if it was in a thin layer, it would still gather and become tacky. The gloss didn't stay moist and glossy for that long either. I felt that I would have to reapply every hour or so.
This is a good enough budget gloss but now that I've found better but pricier alternatives, I am willing to pay extra for the quality of the juicy tubes.
Best lip gloss on the market! Bar none. And under a fiver!
YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO STOP LICKING YOUR LIPS!!
I bought this at the same time as I bought my other Maybelline lip gloss must have been a Maybelline rush!
In actual fact, I have bought a few Maybelline products over the last few weeks, in particular lipsticks and glosses.
Sweet lip gloss with ultra glossy colour and a hint of fruity flavour.
The Fruity Jelly lip gloss comes in a plastic packet with a cardboard backing with all the information you could need to help you apply lip gloss.
The lip gloss comes in a little 10ml clear plastic tube with a screw on/off lid. Because the tube is clear and see through, the lip gloss can be seen, and my Wild Strawberry gloss looked very "appetizing"; all pink with darker pink lines running through it like a strawberry cornetto.
This comes in 5 other fruity flavours/ colours (I don't know how they would be described), including a clear one.

Lots of product information.
The packet is fortunately easy to open; I can't bear it when it's a fight to open packaging. So, out came the lip gloss ready for action.
The lip gloss is very easy to apply. Squeeze the tube and out it comes. I suppose it could be squeezed onto your finger and then applied but I have been applying it directly to my lips.
It is quite thick and moisturizing and I have used it both on its own and also over lipstick.
When applied on its own, it actually appears to be colourless.
A word of warning; when rubbing your lips together, be careful that you don't get over enthusiastic and rub the gloss on the areas around your lips. Because it is so thick and shiny, a definite gloss can be seen on the skin- not a good look, rather as though you have been licking your lips and missed.
Since it is colourless, applied over lipstick, it merely gives your lipstick a glossy shine which is rather nice.
My strawberry lip gloss has a yummy strawberry taste. Not only does it look like the ice cream in a strawberry cornetto but it tastes like it too that and monkey's blood. Hubby was suitably horrified when I told him that. I don't know whether it's because he's from "down south" but I had to explain that monkey's blood is what you get on your 99 ice cream- the red stuff. Anyway, that's what the lip gloss tastes like so if you like that, you'll just love to lick your lips.
The total downside to the nice taste is that it doesn't stay on for too long, although I think that's normal with lip glosses. It wouldn't stand up to a full scale slap up meal and would be off after a few appreciative smacking of the lips.
But, if you just want to look as though you have glossy wet (!) lips, give it a go!
I wonder what the others taste like
Plus side great taste and glossy
Down side great taste, doesn't "stay put" for long and does come off on glasses and whatever else you touch!!
I do like it, although mainly for use during the day as a moisturizing gloss and should I be lost without my lip gloss I would buy it again, although for the tiny tube I got I thought the nearly 5 pounds I paid was a tad steep!
Thanks for reading.
