Advantages: its cheap

Disadvantages: it adds clumps, does not legnthen, it doesnt seem to make my lashes better at all.

I have tried this mascara not just once, but afew years later, twice. (When I say once, twice, I mean I have biught and used two different tubes several times, not literaly used it twice!)

I tried it the first time a good 10 years ago when maybelline came to the UK. I didnt really rate it, I bought it because it was advertised as the next best thing and was affordable for a 17 year old. The second time I bought it I was older, 21 and wanted to see if they had changed the formula as it was again getting so much hype, being rated as no.1 in so many magazines.

I still cant see what all the fuss is about! I bought this and expected it to be fantastic, I expected it to make my lashes look great, longer, stronger, better.
What I got was not this. What I got was average looking lashes on a first attempt. I nearly thought I hadnt shaken up the bottle enough or my pack was out of date... (hence the second attempt some years later). My second attempt at this proved to me that it was not a dud I had bought. They are all like that.

I applied this and got an average look, my lashes didnt really stand out, yes they were darker- but they are blonde to begin with so this isnt a real issue. Some lashes clumped, this is because the bristles are so wide apart and the mascara is so dense. Either they need more bristles on this brush or they need to take the advertising for it down a peg or two as it is not special at all.

Its also not waterproof- they do have a waterproof one but this is not what I am reviewing, so really, I cannot see the justification in buying this mascara, it does nothing for me. I would prefer to- if I am limited by £5 for a budget, buy a mascara from boots no.17, atleast then my lashes wont clump!

Its very basic, and will give you a very basic look for a very basic price of £5.

Summary: top tip: save up another £1 and buy a decent mascara. Unless you like the monolash look.
