Great Lashes? Or Great Farce? (Maybelline Great Lash Mascara)

During my search for my "dream mascara" I was recommended "Maybelline Great Lash" mascara. Many people and magizines reported it as being an amazing mascara with great definition at a fraction of the normal over inflated cosmetics prices.

Now, don't get me wrong, I am not the kind of person who thinks the more an item costs the better it will be; although a mascara for under a fiver? I really didn't think much of it.

I actually only bought it because I was skint and needed mascara (when I say skint I mean a typical 18 year old skint). Oh and it had a pound off!

I tried it for a night out and while it went on ok there was none of this amazing definition that everyone was apparently reporting, but the for the price I paid I suppose I couldn't really complain.

So, the mascara's on its ultimate test; a hot and rather sweaty club. I checked my make up a few times through out the night and I could see that the mascara had flaked slightly (nothing major but still) and I had PANDA EYES!!

Thankfully everyone else was a little drunk and didn't notice.

However I have used this mascara as an every day mascara (didn't want to waste it) and have found that it works ok. As I say it doesn't give the lashes any real definition and it certainly does not lengthen them. Maybe more of a natural look?

Price wise; I can not really complain I suppose. I have noticed that this mascara does generally retail for under a fiver and is normally in BOGOF/3 for 2 offers.

Would I buy it again? No, but then I think my quest to find a decently priced mascara that does what it says on the tube is a no win situation!
