Advantages: Lasts well, great range of colours, doesn't dry out

I got this lipstick because it was on special offer at Island Trading in Brighton (see my review of their discount website if you want to know more) of two for £5. I'm not sure I would have got it otherwise - I've had nightmares with 'stayfast' lipsticks before. They tend to be very drying and far from staying put, come off on everything, from wine glasses to men's faces. Well, you have to test them, y'know ;-)

I'm very glad I tried this lipstick from the Mabelline range, though. I chose the colour 'Maroon' which gave me the bee-stung pouty 20's film star look and reminded me very much of MAC's 'Film Noir' colour (which I also love). It went on well, didn't feel too dry or powdery and was very comfortable to wear. It also lived up to its staying power reputation - it was, indeed, great wear. By the end of the day it had smudged a teeny bit and if I was going out again I'd probably re-apply it, but on the whole the colour had stayed very well - particularly difficult for as dark a colour as this one.

I'm a convert, then, and will continue to allow Mabelline to make me (dream I) look like a pouty film star. Bring out the cocktails and a foot-long cigarette holder....
