I love maybelline products and especially their lip products, i think that for the price they are exceptional products and the Maybelline Lip Polish is no exception.
It has numerous beautiful shades ranging from reds, to pinks to nudes and i have numerous colours of this product - i really do love it! The colours are so vibrant and pigmented it really is perfect for finishing off a look and they are such versatile products as they can be used during the day or can be perfect for use at night. I also find that this lip polish is fairly long lasting. After application the colour is still present around 2 hours after using it provided i haven't eaten or drank much. I also really like this product because it is one of the few lip products which doesn't cause my lips to become dry or flaky which for me is an extreme bonus.
The only downfall of this product in my opinion is that upon application the formula can make your lips feel sticky and the product can feel quite thick and heavy on the lips however this disappears when the product fully dries which takes around 10 minutes max.
Overall i really like this product and i will continue to repurchase it in the various beautiful shades. I would definitely recommend it to people who do not like to spend an extensive amount of time on their lips and wish to use just one (beautiful) product on them! I think that for the price and the quality this is a must have for most girls!
maybelline has winners. maybelline has losers. this is a winner. excellent glossy gloss with a nice choice of colors and lots of shine and staying power, these last a long time and leave lips feeling great. the texture is suburb, i cannot rave enough about these. very impressive long wear for an average lipgloss as well. also had a nice moisturizing feel and not not tacky at all. great use for shine and moisturization. tho there are many different shades i still prefer the clear as it is great to top any lipcolor for tons of shine and great for adding moisture on those days when i don't feel like wearing lip color.
Let me first say that I was never really in to buying makeup unless it was from some overdone girl at the counter who would first insist that it made me look absolutely gorgeous. Then I would take it home, try it, and then tuck it into my makeup drawer never to be used again since it looked absolutely different by the time I got it home. The whole glossy lips thing was a bit much for me since so many of the girls I had seen with this look just screamed overdone it wasn't funny. I had no desire to be lumped in with that lot. The I started to think about it. I hate lipstick. I always had since it manages to come right off right after I apply it. I take the alternate route of wearing just lip liner. But you see, this stuff was not made to be worn without lipstick ,so I would put some sort of balm on first to make sure it went on evenly. I was in lipgloss denial. I was making my own and didn't even stop to realise. That's the worst sort of addict. The one who is so dependant on it they must manufacture their own-but what's worse, I had no clue I was even a user. On a quiet Friday night at home, I caught myself watching The Wedding Planner with Jennifer Lopez (this is not a plug for her, just go along with me for a moment.). In it their is a scene where she does a fifteen second touch up to make herself look more presentable. She smooths her hair, puts something on her lips, and <blink blink> she's done-and looks good... Now wait a minute. She has the same colouring as I do. What was that she put on? Now a woman obsessed, I needed to know. So out I hopped and bought the DVD and listened to the director's commentary, and lo and behold it was Maybelline. Didn't say which one...Didn't matter. ...Maybelline...Maybelline...Maybelline...Maybelline...Nope, not needing blush, it's not a lipstick...it's a gloss...Gloss....gloss....gloss...oooh,here! I stood in the middle of the isle trying to settle on t
he specific area where the glosses were concentrated. Now being this was late on one fo those quiet Friday nights that we don't want to own, I will say I was quite pathetic. I can recall I had on jeans and a top. When I get something in my head I become rather focused until it is resolved. When I finally bent over to start looking at the glosses, the lovely designers of the Maybelline section had been thought ful enough to put these little warped mirrors so you can put the makeup beside your face so you can have some general idea of it will work or not. GAH!!!!! Good grief! I had forgotten that I had not taken off my makeup earlier in the evening so now I had these lovely raccoon eyes and I looked frightful. My hair was a mess and I had on my house shoes (Shaped like the Tazmanian devil none the less).I quickly focused in on the polishes with brushes, found something that looked similar, paid and was out the door to avoid any further embarrasement. Got it home and took off my makeup. I grabbed the Lip Polish named "Mauvie Star" (how appropriate). Not thinking I would like it at all, I took it out of the package and mindlessly applied it. ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. Pretty. This is a lip polish that goes on smoothly and one go with the wand and your lips have colour and sparkle without looking over done or pretentious. The colour was perfect for me. It has now been two weeks since my first encounter with this little tube of wonder, and sad to say, it goes with me nearly everywhere now. Nice natural colour. If I want to wear it at night, I just put one of my lipliners on, then apply the gloss. I catch myself applying it more often than I have ever applied any other product before. This has not helped my dependancy. Big warning! Try at your own risk! This stuff is great!
