Wish this had been around years ago (Maybelline Mineral Foundation)

I have been wearing foundation for more years than most of you reading this review will have been alive. I have worn creams, powders, pastes, liquids and tinted moisturisers all in the effort to go out in public and not frighten the horses.

A couple of weeks ago I decided to take a new foundation away with me for the weekend and having heard and read that mineral foundations were in vogue- I opted for Maybelline Pure Mineral Foundation.

It comes in a very portable round container together with a small kabuki brush. Kabuki is the name of a Japanese Theatre Art form, where the performers wear very very heavy make up- not exactly the look I wanted to achieve- but I kept faith. The powder is kept covered by a plastic top with holes in so you do not get too much on the brush at any one time.

Kabuki brushes are designed to hold the minerals for even application and this one certainly does it's job well.

All you have to do is put powder on the brush and sweep the brush over your face- it takes seconds and you are left with a flawless finish. I wore it the other day, I put in on about 11.30 in the morning and didn't need a touch up till 9pm- and to be honest I am not sure I needed one then- but it just felt wrong not to have to do refresh.

Any part used foundations are now heading for the bin- because this foundation was so quick and easy and it looked good.

It cost me about a tenner which is very good value.

What a find- I definitely am a convert to mineral foundation.
