Recently I went through all of my make up and unfortunatley much of it was dried out and just not good any more. I figured I could afford to replace much of it and went off on a mission. The mission I chose would prove to be much more than I had ever dreamed possible.
I came across what I thought would be a great product. The Maybelline Mineral Power Natural Perfecting Powder foundation. It boasts a spf of 18 and includes micro-minerals. Now I have no idea what micro-minerals are but I figure it had to be good for my skin.
So as I am standing in the make up area picking out my new make ups I grabbed this one to compare with a bunch of others. The deciding factor for me was that it included a nice blush type brush with it for appylying the powder. Not the flimsy sponge type thing they normally give you. So I tossed it into my cart and carried on my way anxious to get home and try it out.
I also purchased the liquid that goes with the powder at the same time getting the set.
I got home opened up the make up and got to applying it. I first put on the liquid to even out my skin tone. I then got the brush out and got ready to put the powder on. I put it on my brush and read the instructions apply in circular motions around your face. I got ready and that's when I realized there was a problem with the powder.
I put it on my skin and I instantly smelled sulfer or what I can only compare to rotten eggs. I guess that its the minerals its made out of. The scent of it was a big turn off and that was only the beginning. As I looked at my self in the mirror I realized that my face was a rather red color. I didnt think that it was due to the powder but as I washed my face and the red color disappeard I knew it was due to the powder.
So not only does it stink like rotten eggs. It also turns you into a clown with a red face. Not what I would call a good make up product. Would I ever buy this again not on your life.
Summary: Not a good product.
