Advantages: Look better without losing your natural beauty, never appear sweaty or blotchy, skin can breathe

Disadvantages: May have to be re-applied during the day

This is one of the best easily-acquired makeup ranges i have run into for a long time. SheerCover and BareMinerals are more expensive and tend to have a finer consistency. This means that while they claim to be better for your skin, they are harder to remove and you can still look sweaty and shiny in them later on.
My job involves a fair bit of exercise and manual labour, so Maybelline keeps me looking fresh and nicely dry for a decent period.

Sitting around $18-25 in chain supermarkets and chemists, it is good value if the look you are going for is 'natural'. My complexion is pale and freckly. Neither bothers me as much as looking sweaty/shiny, having blotchy/uneven skin tone and appearing tired with dark circles.

This will take care of those problems without looking like you have taken a trowel of orange paint to your face, or as if you would crackle and peel under the sun.
It lets your skin breathe. No matter how much you apply, it will still feel much lighter and more pleasant than slavering on liquid foundation.

Cons
This makeup is not for you if you have a lot of very visible skin problems, despite what the tv ads may show. However they do have a concealer and liquid range which I have yet to try. The powder form can be used as good coat over your normal foundation to set it, or as a quick fix up and brush-over during the day.

It has SPF15, but let's face it.. if you need sunscreen in a hot environment, that kind of protection is not going to be enough. I have still been burnt while using it, though i cannot predict how large the difference would have been without the makeup.
If you are intending to apply the powder before going outside and tend to get burnt easily, my recommendation is to apply a good sunscreen first. Let it dry and then apply your makeup so you are protected and still look pretty good!

Summary: Very good for the right skin types, but not everyone..
