Advantages: Texture

Disadvantages: Not really

I own an awful lot of lipsticks and lipglosses but there are some in my collection that I come back to time and time again and Maybelline'e Moisture Extreme is one of them. I look for three things in a lipstick, texture, nice colours and a reasonable price and this ticks all three boxes.

Some say the packaging looks cheap but to me it looks fine and I think how it works it more important anyway. The casing is a simple shiny red colour with silver band round the middle and the shade name on the end of the tube.

The colour range is extensive with this. There are currently 39 colours so it would be hard not to be able to find a shade that you like. Colours range from the new beige collection to pinks, browns and reds. I think this range has one of the best colour collections that I have seen in drugstore makeup ranges.

I currently own three colours. Autumn Rose which is a pretty mauve and my favourite, Silver Rose that looks the most beautiful pink in the tube but looks wrong on me when applied sadly and Precious Ruby which is a bright sparkly red which is quite full-on and not something I'd wear on a normal daily basis.

What I love about these is that they are so rich and creamy. They are not at all scratchy like some of the lipsticks I have tried at twice the price. They go on so smoothly and it feels just like you're applying a lip balm and if using these lipsticks then I don't feel the need to put my Vaseline on first. This is probably because this lipstick contains shea butter which is great for moisturising. It also contains SPF 15 which provides protection against the sun. You can hardly feel that this is on your lips because it is so soft. The lasting power is quite good but slips when your mouth comes into contact with food or drink and so I find you need to reapply after lunch then again if you were going out in the evening.

Would I buy these again? Certainly. They aren't too costly at £4.88 and often they are on offer with £1 off or on a 3 for 2, they are pleasant to use and have a wide range of shades to pick from.

Summary: One of my favourites
