Advantages: Minerals & SPF 15
Disadvantages: The label wears off onto your hand
At last! A mineral foundtion rather than loose powder form. I suffer from spots, dry and greasy patches on my face. So i have to be very careful with what i apply to my face as my skin is so sensitive. I normally use bare minerals loose powder as its breathable and light on my skin.
I saw a tv advert for 'Maybelline Pure Liquid Mineral Foundation' claiming it was breathable and gave a flawless look. A few days later i saw the product on display in Boots for the trial price of £5.52 (normal price £7.82), so i thought while it was on offer i would try it out.
The packaging:
This comes in a small 30ml glass bottle, on the front of the bottle theres a small brown sticker stating Pure liquid mineral breathable foundation for a healthy and flawless look. The shade of the foundation is also shown on the front of the bottle. The foundation is dispensed by a small plastic pump. On the back of the bottle you will find the ingredients list. The product claims that its talc free, oil free and perfume free so suitable for sensitive skin.
My experince of using this:
Im quite fair skined and pale so chose Ivory 010, which was a great match for my skin tone. Its not too pale, it has a nice radiant glow to it unlike some that make you look like a ghost! (There are 8 different shades available) I only needed to use a small pump of this to cover my whole face, so im sure this 30ml bottle will last a long time as a little goes along way.
The foundation glided onto my skin lovely only using my finger tips to apply it. The look was natural, flawless and radiant. The coverage was just right, my pores didnt look clogged and didnt leave me with that caked on look some leave you with.
I have quite a physical job and found the foundation lasted for around 8 hours before needing to be re-touched in places where my skin gets greasy naturally after a sweaty day at work.
This foundation also contains SPF 15 so no need to apply sun lotion on your face before applying this. SPF 15 is great to help against sun damage and skin ageing so a foundation with an SPF in is a real bonus as many people forget sun damage can happen all year round whatever the weather!
The only downside:
The only problem i have found with this foundation is the label on the rear of the bottle. After about 4 weeks of using this foundation daily the label colouring has broken away from the actual label into tiny llittle brown pieces all over the bottle. So when im applying my foundation i keep getting tiny little brown dots all over my face of this label! Ive now removed the remains of the label to stop this from happening.
I would recommend this foundation to everyone! Its great for any type of skin.
Summary: A breathable natural looking mineral foundation
