Advantages: Tries to be healthy while maintaining good overall coverage - perfect!
Disadvantages: For a really flawless finish, you may also need to use some concealer
After trying various other foundations, what attracted me initially to Maybelline Pure Liquid Mineral foundation was the natural factor which the foundation boasts. Call me a gullible consumerist (or not - I prefer not!), but the words on the bottle "Pure Liquid Mineral, breathable foundation for a healthy and flawless look with micro-minerals and SPF 15" did appeal to me, as nobody wants to compromise the health of their skin. Therefore, I thought I'd give it a go!
I was pleasantly surprised; the coverage of the make-up is pretty good for me. Being liquid, it is easy to apply and blend (I use Ivory, number 010), and in the end is not really noticeable on the skin. That said, I also use a little concealer with it on problem areas when I want better cover, as the coverage can seem thin in places and not really to full satisfaction.
However, I will continue to buy this as I feel better about wearing this than other make-ups - I feel it doesn't clog up my pores the same, where as other foundations can be really bad for this. I still try not to use too much make-up and have plenty of days without it, but when I do need to apply it, my mind feels easier in the knowledge that there are mirco-minerals and a SPF (sun protection factor) of 15 floating around in the liquid, although I'm no expert, so just have to take their word for it! Indeed, this makeup is unobtrusive; there is no smell, as there can be with other foundations, and once it's on, you can just forget about it even being there.
I was also impressed by the list of ingredients for the foundation which was displayed on a sign in Superdrug. I can't remember the whole thing off by heart, but luckily for me, it's on the website for Pure Liquid Mineral Foundation too!
According to said website (www.maybelline.co.uk/ PRODUCTS/Face/FOUNDATION/ Pure_Liquid_Mineral_Foundation.aspx) the ingredients are (or aren't as it were) as follows (please note that I have had to put a space before the words 'PRODUCTS' AND 'Pure_Liquid' here as the link was too long to publish, so if you copy and paste this, remember to take the two spaces out):
"Enriched with purified MICRO-MINERALS
0% oil
0% waxes
0% perfume
15 SPF
up to 8HRS hydration
37% water"
This seems quite simple to me, which is good, however, there are obviously many other ingredients which I can't even pronounce nevermind judge on their health factor!
Ingredients include: Aqua/water, cyclopentasiloxane, dimethicone, ethlhexyl, methoxycinnamate, glycerine, etc, etc (it's a long list! However, you can find the rest under the peel back label on the back of each bottle)
However, as make-ups go, I'm quite happy with this one for now; there might be better foundations out there coverage wise, but this one does the job for me, and is at least trying to be healthier, although the words on the website "skin appears visibly improved and looks so natural, so healthy" seems to be focusing more on the appearance of health rather than really achieving it, but I'll give it the benefit of the doubt, as they also state; "makeup that's good to your skin. It's proven."
I would therefore recommend it for people who need a light - medium coverage and who are quite skin-health conscious, especially people who need to wear a lot of make-up on stage or at work, etc.
The makeup seems to last for a good while, but does tend to need reapplying if you want good coverage in the evenings as well (for example, if you put it on for work in the morning and then wanted to go out in the evening too, it would probably need re-applying). I would say it lasts for about 7 hours.
This makeup is available in 8 shades, and comes in a nice little pump bottle, which is a great dispenser, but does mean that when you come to the end of the bottle, there is still some foundation in there which you just can't get at, which can be annoying when you're desperate! You can't remove the lid to access it either I'm afraid...
It can be bought from both Boots and Superdrug for £7.82 for 30ml, however, if you have a Boots advantage card, then obviously it works out better to buy it there and get your points!

Summary: I will continue to buy this!
