Advantages: ok coverage, cheap, good for your skin
Disadvantages: not what I expected, bad texture, very dry
My usual foundation is Maxfactor colour adapt but last year I decided to try something a bit new and get Pure liquid mineral foundation. I bought it in my local Morrisons when I was looking for a cheaper alternative to my max factor as it was a pretty hard time. I do like Maybelliune's products and I have never been disappointed with the product I've received so I expected good things from this foundation.
I did noticed my usual foundation was pretty oily and I wanted an alternative to it so that my skin was spotless (literally) for my holiday. I assumed that this foundation would do exactly that. It came in a glass bottle with a little pump. I prefer the pumps as open-top bottles can be very hard to get the foundation out. I would have much rathered that it came in a plastic bottle so that I could cut the bottle open when I was finished and scrape every last piece of my foundation out. If you haven't noticed yet, I like to get the best for my money.
Colour:
The colour I purchased was Sand 030. This is a pretty fair colour although it gives a touch of tan to your skin. I am very pale and usually the lightest foundations suit me best although I find that they can drain the life out of your face and make you look very gothic. This is why I opted for a darker skin tone. I found that it was rather yellowy/beige as opposed to the bright orange colour you find so this was a bonus. I don't think the colour it applies to your face is very nice so you may need some bronzer or some powder to conceal the colour of your skin.
Coverage:
Although this is a cheaper foundation, the coverage is fairly good. It doesn't apply very thick to the skin and this is probably due to the watery consistency of the foundation. It covered spots fairly well and completely concealed freckles. I think you may need to apply another foundation on top of this such as dream matte mouse or put two layers of this foundation on if you really want to cover all blemishes. For a cheaper foundation the coverage is ok and would be quite a good foundation for people who don't have a lot to hide.
Texture:
I have to say I absolutely hate the texture of this. You first notice this when you put it on. When you try to rub it, it almost feels very dry and that you are rubbing dry foundation on your skin. This is probably due to the fact the foundation is oil free. It definitely does not "glide" on the skin so you definitely need a skin primer for this. When it sits on the skin, I think the looks awful and you can not leave the house without placing a powder or an other foundation on top. It does not make your skin appear soft and you can definitely tell you have foundation on - no natural look for you!
Application:
This is an important issue as applying the foundation is just as important as having a good foundation. Firstly, you have to use a sponge as using your fingers will only be a nightmare for you and due to it's watery texture you will lose a lot of it inside your fingers. At least with a sponge, the foundation stays inside for a long while. You absolutely have to use a moisturiser underneath because the foundation is just too dry and it will dry your skin out. It does not blend very well into your jawbone or anywhere into your skin in fact so make sure you rub the foundation down into your chest (if you are wearing a low-cut top)
Skin health:
This foundation doesn't really claim to be amazing, it just claims to be healthy for your skin which us woman should really consider as we put so my rubbish on our face everyday. It is non-comedogenic, talc-free, oil-free and fragrance free which means you are doing something great for your skin. I did notice my spots reduced which was great so I'm a bit upset the foundation itself wasn't better.
Overall I was fairly disappointed with this product and felt that maybe line let me down. IT was only £6.99 so I couldn't really complain and for such a cheap foundation it had it's advantages.
But unfortunately never again.
Summary: not great
