      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      Not good at all!

The one thing I do once a week at least is paint my toenails. I can't imagine not doing it as I hate bare nails but having said that I don't paint my fingernails due to me being a biter!

I spotted this in T.J Hughes priced at £2.00 a bottle and snapped it up considering it's Maybelline and felt I was getting a bargain and I really like the light shell pink colour I chose. There were about 12 colours to choose from and before I go any further this isn't one I've seen in a major chemist or supermarket though it is readily available to purchase for about the price I paid online but also keep your eyes open in independent chemists and T.J Hughes and places like that as I have seen it around and about on my travels alot lately.

      The Packaging:

Square see-through glass bottle with a black long twist on/off lid to the top of it which holds the brush of course. On the front of the bottle I'm told it's Maybelline New York Salon Expert Nail Color, Curved Brush Precision and there is a drawing of the brush on there. On the back of the bottle not alot of information is given at all apart from being told to shake the bottle! On the lid the colour is stated which in my case is 405 Kissed Petal. It's a large size, 0.5 fl oz/ 14.7ml which struck me as excellent value at the time I bought it and like I said earlier I really did like the colour!

      Using It:

Well the brush is long and thin and black in colour on the end of a white 'wand'. I was expecting a curvy looking brush or something rather spectacular but no.... it's a nice enough brush don't get me wrong but nothing out of the ordinary at all. However it is a good width and length, is pliable and easy to maneuver and doesn't drop hairs off or flake or anything and for it's purpose it does a great job so I like the brush...that isn't the problem....

The problem is the polish. First off it stinks and I mean in an old fashioned nail varnish way. Things have come on a little bit and I can't think of another nail polish I've used in recent years that smells like this it really is stinky!

Things don't get much better either because the polish is so thin it shows every ridge and imperfection on my nail there is. It dries rather quickly though (in about 2 minutes) and then I do another coat and the results do look better but still, for me this is too thin and doesn't seem to evenly coat my nails at all. What it does give me though is a high glossy shine, however I found this on my toenails to chip within 2 days which for me isn't long enough and when you think about it if it does that on my toenails it simply would be awful on fingernails for you lot as you always use your hands!

      Verdict:

I liked the colours and size on offer but don't rate the nail polish at all and from a manufacturer such as Maybelline Im surprised they've ever had this particular polish in it's range. Saying that though this is not part of there range they sell in the big shops any longer.

      Avoid me thinks!
