Advantages: it would perhaps be a good grout for brick layers.

Disadvantages: Bad colour, terrible coverage, doesnt last, chalky thick texture, impossible to use.

During one of my eternal searches for the perfect foundation, I picked up "Maybelline Superstay Silky Foundation". I chose it primarly because of the dual chamber dispenser. On the one side is the foundation, and on the other is a "silky feel extender". At first, I assumed the white silky feel extender was a kind of primer, so hoped for good things.

What does Maybelline say about it?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Maybelline states that this foundation will give you up to 16 hours of wear. It promises flawless coverage and comfort. they promise that the dual dispenser is easy to use, and that its available in six shades, including, cameo, ivory, nude, sand fawn and caramel.
It is available on the Superdrug website for £9.78.
What did I think?
~~~~~~~~~~~
Unfortunatly, although I have heard good things from other people, I found this foundation to be a major disappointment.

Firstly, unlike the website promises, the dispenser is not easy to use. I found that it pumped the foundation side out about three times faster than it pumped the silky extender out. I was left with a hugeglob of foundation, and the teeniest bit of silky extender.
It doesnt matter how you press the lid, at what angle, or at what pressure, the silky extender just doesnt want to come out, unless it also pumps out the foundation.
This was messy, annoying and a waste of money, as so much of the product ended up wasted.
I finally managed to get an equal amount on my finger (after wiping away most of the foundation with a tissue).

I found that when i applied the foundation, it dried so quickly that I had literally seconds to blend it out, before it dried in big nasty clumps on my face. Distributing it equally was nigh on impossible, and i ended wasting even more of the product, just trying to get an even base.

When the foundation did dry, it felt very chalky and flaky on my skin.

It didnt do a particularly good job of covering any blemishes, as the foundation was so thick, and the consistency was so dry, that it kind of glooped around them, making even the smallest of blemishes look like a volcano about to errupt.

I am 24, and I dont have a single wrinkle on my face (I am vampire like in my loathing of the sun), but somehow this foundation managed to sink into the invisible lines around my eyes, making me look at least five years older. I dont want my undereyes to look crepey. Its the last thing I need.
This foundation also seemed to clog over pores, making them look far more pronounced.

Still, whatever doubts I had, I battled on. I put the rest of my makeup on, went outside, got in the car, checked the rearview mirror....and to my horror, realised that my face was orange.

The forgiving light in my house had kept me unawares, but in the (very) harsh light of day, there was no mistaking the orange tinge to my face, an the unslightly tide mark around my jaw. I swear that my face wasnt that dark when I applied the foundation, but I know that some foundations can have funny reactions to different peoples skin.

I bought the lightest shade possible, but unfortunatly it seemed to morph into some vile toasty beige tone, on my lily white skin.

So. There I was. Orange, with wrinkles, massive pores, and infectious looking blemishes. not the best look ever.

i still battled on though. I wore my face all day, feeling more and more put out when friends asked me if i was tired or unwell.

After about two hours I noticed that patches on my nose, cheeks and chin were wearing away. Showing off my white skin underneath.

So not only did it change colour, illuminate blemishes and age me five years, it also didnt even cover my face.

I dont even really need to tell you, but as soon as I got home, I resigned this foundation to my old makeup box. The one full of broken lipsticks, facepaint, and dried out mascaras.

This product, for me, and Iimagine for anyone with blemishes, slightly dry skin, or the finest of lines, was a complete and utter waste of money. The bottle is nigh on impossible to use unless you cut the top off, it doesnt blend, and it gives such terrible results, that i was embaressed to wear it on my face.

i think this is one of those foundations that only works on people with absolutely flawless skin...and thats only if it doesnt sneakily turn thm into an oompah loompah when they least expect it.

i shant be buying this again, and I would heartily advise others, wholack th perfect skin of five year old children, to avoid this like the plague.

Summary: A foundation to avoid, unless you have flawless skin.

I have never found a Maybelline foundation that doesn't turn orange. I too have fairly pale skin, and even the lightest shade in each range is very orange looking after a while.
