... pretty much a case of brush-on as normal. It's quite a thick wand in comparison to other 'voluminising' mascaras but I don't have any problems angling it to cover the eyelashes in the corners or my bottom eyelashes so this isn't at all detrimental to using the mascara. PRICE I bought mine from Superdrug and paid around the £6-7 mark. MY EXPERIENCES One of the first things that you'll notice about this mascara is the wild claims that it gives up to 5 times the volume. I no longer buy mascaras on the claim that they'...more

Maybelline Volum' Express Turbo Washable Mascara: A good mascara if you don't believe the claims! (561 words)

A couple of months ago, I realised that I'd had my mascara quite a bit longer than is recommended and as someone who has had more than their fair share of eye infections in the past, I knew it was time to start the search for a new mascara. I'd previously been using a No 7 mascara that I was given as a gift but I wasn't particularly enamoured with it and didn't relish paying the price tag. I usually have good experiences with Maybelline mascaras so I decided to look at what they had to offer. As you can tell from this review, I walked away with this particular mascara. THE WAND Having used a fair few Maybelline mascaras in the past, the wand here isn't ...  Read the complete review

Great results for a brilliant price! (574 words)

When it comes to my eyelashes I like them thick, dense and very black so any new mascaras that promise at least one (but ideally all three!) of these effects is usally purchased pretty quickly by myself! And since I am usually very impressed by Maybellines other mascaras, when I saw "Volum' Express Turbo Boost" for sale in my local Boots and realised I hadn't tried it before I decided to give it a go. Maybelline promise that "Volum' Express Turbo" will give your lashes up to 5x more volume using the 'turbo boost plumping gel' formula. The 'anti clump' brush also claims to build even more volume too. It is Opthalmologically tested so is ...  Read the complete review

Maybelline Volum' Express Turbo Washable Mascara: 5 x Volume? Maybe not that great! (662 words)

I recently purchased a few make up items in the Maybelline range when they were on '3 for 2' in Boots. I purchased a lip colour and foundation of which I have done a review on and now I will review my other item which is the mascara. I purchased the Volum' Express waterproof which was my free product due to it being the cheapest out of the three items I bought. The reason I chose this particular one over anything else was that because it is a waterproof one - with my holiday coming up soon I wanted one that could possibly last going on a few water rides and not resulting in me ending up with streaks down my face! The packaging: The ...  Read the complete review

Big, smokey eyes (425 words)

I get through quite alot of mascara, I have fair hair and eyelashes and like to define my eyes with copious amounts of mascara. I also think finding a decent mascara can be a problem, there's the consideration of whether it clumps, runs, makes the eyelashes spidery, the brush type and size and lengthening effect. A while back I bought a Volum' Express Turbo Boost mascara by Maybelline from Boots. I paid £5.99 for it which is fairly average for a mascara but I only paid full price as I had some vouchers. I usually go on an online bargain hunt to see if I can find an item anywhere else for less. I found the mascara itself very effective, it doesn't ...  Read the complete review

maybelline volum express I have always found that Maybelline mascaras tend to "deliver", so I thought this would be good, and given that sometimes I know I won't be swimming or out in the rain, I sometimes don't need a waterproof one THE PROMISE... As ever, there are a number of claims and promises: * The plumping Gel formula pumps up lashes for up to 5 X the volume. * Anti-Clump Turbo Brush * it is opthalmologically tested * suitable for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers. * washable *Multi-level bristles give a smooth finish - short bristles build volume while long bristles ...  Read the complete review
