Advantages: in a stick form but is like a lip gloss, lovely texture, very highly glittery
Disadvantages: wears off quickly, quite gooey, not as glittery in normal light
I am often sceptical about new products. I have a cupboard full of them and I've been disappointed so many times, that's why they're all still there. I got a sample of Watershine Diamond lipstick because I expected it to be the same tosh as usual. It's quite a mixed bag with this product though. The lipstick goes on very smoothly. It's soft and a bit runny like a lip gloss, but in a stick form. I must say; I quite like that because it's so much more convenient than those bottles and brush and more hygienic and easier than sticking your finger in a pot. When you first put it on (and I'm going on the cherry colour here) the colour is quite striking. It's very glittery; not as in big bits of glitter, but tiny shiny ones all over. They catch the sun and really sparkle, but it doesn't show up that much if your in normal light unlike the models in the adverts. I did find too that it wasn't very long wearing. It stayed on for about 25 minutes and definitly smudges off immediatly if you're eating or drinking. It's a bit of a no-no for hair as well, as strands of mine kept sticking to it. It's a real shame to be honest because like the I said the texture and colours are something special, but don't rush out to buy one just yet, as unless you're very careful to love to reapply, it won't last.

- 03/01/04 Athena is absolutely right about the product wiping away easily. It looks great, but can transfer simply by brushing your mouth against your hand. I had a cold one day, went to wipe my nose and thought I had a nosebleed until I realised it was my diamondshine lipstick on the tissue!
What I will add is that if you can leave the lipstick intact for about an hour after applying, it does seem to increase its durability. I apply it before driving to work and when I get there I can have a cup of coffee without leaving much around the cup. It then lasts until about lunchtime, so give it a chance to set in before a night out! Well worth buying if on special offer, but not worth 6 pounds I think. |

- 25/06/02 I am a bit wary of this product as I worry that the glitter won't look good against imperfect skin and teeth! |

- 23/06/02 I don't own one because I tried a tester that came free with one of the many many adverts in magazines - the colour was excellent, but like you said, it smudged so SO easily. |
