I have an addiction to lip balms/glosses pretty much anything that will stop my lips from getting dry. I know it's a vicious circle because I am now so used to have my lips feel moisturised all the time that within a few minutes of having nothing on them they feel dry and uncomfortable but what's a girl to do.
If I am going to put anything on my lips I am of the mind that it should at least look pretty. My favourite ever product is Lancolme Juicy Tubes but these are really expensive so I save them for special and use cheaper glosses most of the other times.
Most of the cheaper ones don't come anywhere near the Lancolme ones but that is to be expected when you consider the price difference between them.
For instance the Maybelline Watershine lip gloss is only £4.99 but even at this price it isn't worth the money as it is really not a nice gloss to wear.
Instead of being a squeezy tube this comes with a wand applicator which I'm not keen on as I like the convenience of just being able to take my gloss from my bag and apply it whenever I want and with the wand I find that I actually need a mirror or I end up getting some on my outer lip.
It is such a weak lip gloss in the fact that it just isn't long lasting at all and comes off as soon as anything touches my lips be it a cup or my hand to the point that when I apply some it has completely gone within about 45 minutes.
It also just feels really heavy on my lips and isn't nice and lightweight. The one good thing about it is that it has a really greasy feel to it so it is nice to wear if you have really dry lips. Although the shine is good the colour is a bit bland and boring. I got it in baby pink and was expecting it to be more pink than it actually was. Unfortunately it was just shiny and the colour may as well have been neutral.
I wouldn't buy it again as even though it was only a fiver there are loads of other glosses out there that are much better than this for the same and less money. The only time I would consider wearing it again would be if my lips were really cracked as it is moisturising enough that it helps relieve the dryness and make my lips look less dry.
I am not a huge fan of lipgloss though I do occasionally dabble with the stuff from time to time. I though didn't buy myself this lipgloss, my friend did when she spotted it in our local Tesco store reduced to £1.50 opposed to usually costing about £4.09 the price Boots are charging per gloss though the shade my mate treated me to is Cotton Candy and a colour that is currently about to be discontinued and thats why alot of outlets (including online stores) are selling this one at a discounted price at the moment.
This comes in a glass tube with a metallic two tone pink lid to the top of it within which is a white plastic 'wand' that has a white, soft sponge to the bottom of it. Down the side of the tube we are told that it is Maybelline 'New York' Watershine Gloss and that it is 5ml in size, made in France and contact details for Maybelline are given on there too. On the top of the lid the the colour is stated (in my case thats Cotton Candy of course) and a number is given for it too (again in my case its 245). Nice enough packaging this is.
The Lipgloss itself:
Well using this is simple enough. You can wear this alone or over a lipstick or whatever that choice is yours of course. This to me has a lovely fragrance to it sort of fruity, sweet and with a hint of vanilla to it and when on the lips it does have a very light fragrance still to it along with a very slight fruit taste to it as well which is pleasant enough.
The lipgloss looks wet on and this is because it has lots of small but smooth glitter particles within it and on the lips it does have a wet sort of shiny appearance to it.
However this to me feels very greasy on the lips and sends my lips sliding all over the place, it comes off on everything your lips touch and so I find that not only is this slightly uncomfortable on the effects you first get when you apply this do not last above half an hour if using your mouth for anything either!
This is not lip defining and unless you want to keep applying it frequently.....don't bother with this one!
The current and latest lipglosses from this range are clearly clear, baby pink, natural sunset and mauve star and are available in all good chemists and supermarkets.

I only own one shade of this range of lip glosses. It is not a favvourite lip gloss of mine. I normally get through glosses very quickly although this one has been sitting in my make up bag for a while now as I only use it if I cant find another one. The shade I have is Crystal Dune and it is a shimmery light browny colour. The gloss does make my lips look fuller and stays in place although it is quite watery and sticky on my lips. The applicator within the lid is very good. It is a small flexible sponge which make it easy to apply and also feels soft on the lips. It enables the perfect amount required to be applied with no problem.
This should be a fantastic lip gloss although I have not taken to it. This is more for the reason of the shade. I have pale skin and I chose the wrong shade, it makes me look a little washed out and does not suit my skin tone. Although the application and stay power of the gloss is very good. As is the price. I would like to purchase a different colour of gloss within this range. When I do I will update this review.
