Decent product for use with other items not a good stand alone product.

I am always on the search for the next best thing for my lips. Recently I came across this little gem. I was in a hurry looking for some thing to give my lips shine and just to make them look a little better all the way around. I seen this pink tube and thought I would give it a try. I cant remember how much I paid for it but I am sure it was cheap as I am never willing to spend a lot of money on make up.

The first thing that I noticed about this tube of lipstick was its color it came in a nice pink color very pretty and feminine. The second thing that I noticed and just loved about this tube of lipstick was how the lip clipped on letting you know it was securely on the tube giving it the proper protection that a tube of lipstick needs. I don't know how many times I have had tubes in my purse that the lid falls off and the lipstick gets covered with junk its just gross. So for me this was a great design for the actual lipstick tube.

The color I got is called Blush Boost. it's a rather Salmon looking color not to pink and not to orange or red either. Just right. I thought however when I bought the tube of lipstick that it would provide shine as its called wet shine fusion. It did not provide the type of shine I was expecting it was rather more subdued and more glittery than shiny.

The other problem I had was that when I applied it I noticed that it was rather hard to apply and in order to blend it in on my lips I had to apply to me what felt like a ton of the product. Now that I have the product on my lips I am overwhelmed with a floral type scent and taste. Not what I want to be tasting every time I lick my lips. When I apply lipstick I do not want to taste or smell anything. If I do happen to taste or smell anything I am more apt to not use that item again.

So I had been wearing the lipstick for a while when I went to the bathroom to freshen up when I got in and had a look at my self in the mirror I was rather horrified by my appearance or more directly the state of my lipstick. It seems that the inner part of my lips had no lipstick left on them at all it had all worn away. The outer part of the lips still had a small amount of color still left on them but my lips were dry and there was no way to reblend the color back on to my lips in a more even way. As I looked at my self in the mirror a little longer I noticed that no only had the lipstick worn away it had started to bleed at the outside of my lips as well.

I tried the lipstick again and once again got the same results. I did have better results when I used it with a high shine lip gloss as well. I have also found after reading other reviews that using a lip liner will stop the lipstick from bleeding.

For a stand alone lipstick I would not recommend this product. If you don't mind taking a few extra minutes and adding a few extra items to your make up bag then this is the lipstick for you. However for me I will continue to look for the lipstick that last all day long no matter what I do and maintain a high gloss shine as well. Impossible I know but a girl can dream.

A good, affordable lipstick and a really great red.

Encased in a metallic pink, slim-lined case and coming in a range of bold, opaque colours, Maybelline Wet Shine Fusion Lipstick is not for the faint of heart. I own this lipstick in the colour Very Cherry, which is a rich, full-bodied red lipstick. It is actually a pretty perfect red lipstick in terms of colour I must say; bright, not orangey, but not too dark or purple-ish looking. Just right!

I also really like the packaging, the two halves of the case snap together quite tightly so I don't worry about the top half coming off in my bag and leading to a red lipstick covered mobile phone or anything like that. The inner casing is silver and looks quite smart, though plastic. Also the lipstick itself is raised by swivelling the bottom half of the container against the inner silver casing, and is a very smooth and easy to control movement.

I have already had this lipstick a year or two and although I can't say I wear it often I am still very happy with how it has lasted. It is still as bright as ever and the colour does not seem diminished in any way. Also there's a healthy amount of lipstick in the tube, probably around an inch and a half of colour, which with these bright colours will take you a long time to get through.

Applying the lipstick, it does slide on very smoothly and doesn't feel drying at all on your lips. The wet shine effect is very clear as it definitely a glossy finish and not a matte. Don't expect it to look like you've got lip gloss on though, it is still a more subtle shine. For a truly wet look you'd need to cover it with a slick of clear lop gloss I'd say.

The one problem I would say I've had with this lipstick is that the colour does tend to bleed. Especially if it is used without sealing the lips with a lip-liner, you will find that after a few hours you will begin to see the colours seeping into the fine lines around your mouth. To be fair this is something probably only you will notice but still. This doesn't put me off overly as it can be mitigated with applying lip liner liberally before putting on the lipstick. Also, if you just want a bit of colour you can blot your lips after applying and this will also lessen any smudging. Of course blotting also does mean that the benefit of the 'wet shine' part of the lipstick will no longer be visible.

Lastly, if you're wearing this in a bright colour, don't be expecting to be kissing anyone! They will end up with massive smudges around their mouths, as will you. While this lipstick is no worse than other brands in a similar price range, it isn't any better either. It will come off if you eat, kiss, or drink, so you will definitely need to reapply if you're wearing a bright colour. I think anyone wearing a real red though would expect to have to reapply throughout the evening.

All in all a good, affordable lipstick and a really great red.

      Maybe it's Maybelline!!

I'm not a great make up wearer, but I do like to have a reasonable range of cosmetics to dip into as and when I feel like it. I feel as though I should have "moved on" from the cheapest ranges such as Boots 17 (oh, the days of spending pocket money on a Saturday!!) and yet I cannot afford or justify the "premium" products that I would love to try.....

So, middle of the road it is, and I have found Maybelline to do exactly what I need it to do, reliable, and affordable.

This little lipstick is one of the best I have ever bought. It is described as "wet shine" in the description above, but it is actually "water shine".....don't be fooled by the description, it is not a "wet look" lipstick, and you will be disappointed if you buy this hoping for glossy lips....

It is a slimline lippy, just as the picture depicts. This, for me, is great, because it slots neatly into any handbag, no matter whether you are carrying your "everything but the kitchen sink" bag, or your "just holds a credit card and a mobile phone" bag......that means, you can touch up your lippy whenever you feel the urge.

The range of colours is superb......although, again, I have to confess to playing it safe and usually buying the same colour.....number 705 - Beige Fusion.....not as beige as it sounds, but a deep heather colour......perfect for me for summer and winter.

The best thing about this lipstick, though, in my opinion, is the fact that the lid clicks on firmly every time - there is no danger of the lid falling off as it rolls about your handbag, or as you rummage in your make up bag. Therefore, your chances of getting lips full of "bag fluff" are pretty much zero.

Stayability - well, again, middle of the road. It doesn't claim to be a 24-hour-stay-put-through-drunken-snogfest lippy, and I have to confess that I have not sampled it through such a vigorous consumer test, but if you apply and blot as you were taught in "Just 17" all those years ago, you will not have to reapply this one too often.

As you are wearing this lipstick, you won't feel clogged up, your lips won't feel dried out, in fact you may forget you are wearing this - it really is a user friendly product all round.

So, if you are looking for a good value, good quality product, then you could do worse than to visit the Maybelline watershine lipstick range. Available at most Boots stores and supermarkets/chemists as well as online.
