Me and my *ahem* bargains... (Maybelline Wonder Curl Mascara)

Advantages: Nice packaging, Makes lashes thick and curly

Disadvantages: Didn't make my lashes thick or curly!, Expensive, Sticky

I bought this mascara because it was a bargain half price at Superdrug and i had been longing for one that came in a fancy package for ages! Mascara is just so expensive these days and although lads want girls to have thick lucious lashes do they know how much it costs? Anyway, i decided to get some and try it out.

The metallicaly blue packaging and silver "wonder curl" writing looked very modern and i was quite excited to try it out. I don't know why bu ti thought that just because the packaging was nice, the product would be cool..

When i took the wand out it was a weird shape, Like an 'n' shape. I wasn't sure which way up to put the n because i hadn't been given any instructions and well.. this can't be brain surgery.. can it?! Each way worked just as well and once i had applied the 3rd coat my lashes did look thicker and curlier. This might have something to do with the fact that i could scrape the make-up off my lashes they were so glued with mascara. Throughout the day the mascara had good staying power and with a few check-up and wipes here and there i soon started liking the mascara.

The next day when i woke up, even though i had used my trusty-never-fail eye make - up remover the night before i still had panda eyes. Rubbing the sleep out i noticed something quite scary. My lashes were falling out 2 or 3 at a time! Still, i had a wash and after much scrubbing of the eyes, had a clean pallette to start work on. When i applied the mascara this time though it really wasn't very good. My lashes didn't feel thick, they didn't look curly, infact i would rather describe them as a big sticky mess.

I'd probably still rate this product because i'm not an expert at applying make-up and maybe somebody with the right hands would be able to tame this mascara. My lashes seemed to be damaged and I think they was actually in better condition when i used th
e good ol' lash curlers. So.. I won't be falling for the packaging again in such a hurry!! Oh dear.. will i ever stop wasting my money on half price stuff.. NOTE TO SELF: there's a reason why it's half price!
