Advantages: Cheap

Disadvantages: Ruins your skin?

I have always used maybelline. Maybe, thats because I've never had the courage to change brand. I was walking through Morrisons one day, when I picked up a very cheap bottle of foundation. It was priced around £4-5. It was a 'liquid to powder' foundation. I didn't quite understand this, but it looked good. I decided to give it go, using my usual colour, ivory. This is the lightest colour they have, and it blends with my skin beautifully. Although, it can look very white, especially in photographs. Maybelline offeres this product, in a few different shades:

Sandy Beige
Pure Beige
Tan
Cocoa
Golden
Honey Beige
Ivory

As I got home, I decided to give it a try. I scrubbed my face, applied all my normal skin products, added a little mostiser, then got to work. The foundation was in a squeezy bottle. I put a little bit on the back on my hand and started gently rubbing it into my skin. I found this founation was really hard to blend. It kept going very bloachy. After about 45 minutes of trying to fix my foundation, I got it close enough to ok-ish. I really wanted to rub it off, as the liquid had turned powdery, and made my skin feel horribly dry. I had to take a chance, and tackle the sunlight. I met up with my friends, and they looked horrified. They are not the type to point out your flaws, but their reaction was "what the hell is that on your face?". I knew it had to be bad, because they never react this like. I went into the nearest McDonalds to use the mirror, and I was almost has horrified as they were. I was orange! I mean, pure orange! How could this be? I used the lightest tone! Also, my skin was all flakey and dry. I felt like crying. After this, my friends had to jump along to superdugs to buy baby wipes for me! And I felt so terrible afterwards, I had to tackle it home! A day ruined, all because of stupid foundation!

When I got home, I looked dreadful. My skin was still dry, and I had grown a few spots. That night, I exfoliated deeply. I gave myself, a home facial. The next morning I woke up, and felt my skin. It felt soft, but horribally bumpy. I ran over to the mirror to see I was completly broke out in spots! Damn that stupid foundation! The spots didn't clear for three months, and, I now have permanent scars. Please, consider my story if you are intending on purchasing this product.

Summary: Please, don't use cheap foundation.
