Maybelline Wonder Finish Foundation
by TukTukTuk
INTRODUCTION
To find the right foundation, is probably a life's work. At least for me, because whenever the color and coverage fits (best: Dermablend Vichy), it falls short of the lasting power. Currently I use a TooFaced foundation which Im quite happy with. A foundation that I bought ages ago was the Wonder Finish ... foundation by Jade. I have pretty fair skin, with a slight yellow tone. This makes my color really hard to describe. Either the foundation is too light or too dark. I have chosen the colour cameo.
INGREDIENTS
AQUA; Isododecane; cyclopentasiloxane oxane, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, PEG-10 Dimethicone, Nylon-12, Butylene Glycol, Dimethicone Bis-PEG/PPG-14/14; PHENOXYETHANOL, MAGNESIUM SULFATE, C9-15 FLUOROALCOHOL PHOSPHATES; CHLORPHENESIN; METHYLPARABEN; TERTASODIUM EDTA , TRICLOSAN; BUTYPARABEN; TOCOPHEROL, Glycerin, SODIUM PCA, UREA; TREHALOSE; POLYQUATERNIUM-51, Sodium Hyaluronate (+ / - CL77891, CL 77492, CL 77491, CL 77499), FIL D4373 / 2
MY OPINION
I cant recommend this foundation. The application is really annoying, for the reason that it is so runny. I used my finger to apply this foundation, but the foundation runs through my fingers and drops on my carpet. An application with a foundation brush is almost impossible. Thats a big minus! On the positive side I have to mention that it feels really light on your skin, its not flaky and it blends my skin perfectly. It also has a smooth powdery finish and a flawless coverage. My skin is very oily so the foundation doesnt last all day, but I already know this from other products. The coverage is light to medium, when you have skin imperfections this is not the right foundation for you. As far as I know this product has discontiuned, but it is still available on Amazon or Ebay. The price is approx. 5 Pounds. I rate the Wonder Finish Foundation with 3 stars there are much better products on the market. Read the complete review |

Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner
by sarahann245
I really like my eyes, so I really like to make them stand out by using a dramatic black eyeliner.
I constantly drew on thick lines with pencil when I was younger, only to look like a panda an hour after applying. I'm not a fan of liquid eyeliner so I thought I'd try this.
It's not the cheapest (around £8 in most ... places) but it's definitely worth the money if you want a bit of drama.
It comes in a tiny pot (not necessarily too small, though) with a flat brush included.
Applying this is very different to applying either pencil or liquid eyeliner, I find. As you're using a flat brush instead of a pointed applicator.
It goes on jet black and stays jet black for hours which is a definite plus, especially on a night out which is when you're most likely to use it.
It can be applied all around the eye, even on the water line without running which again, made me love it.
With this eyeliner, a little goes a long way which is good because as I mentioned earlier, you don't get much of it. Read the complete review |

Maybelline Fit Me! Foundation
by ask_eve
I'm quite a big fan of Loreal and Maxfactor foundation but as it is so expensive I tend to use Maybeline because it's really good and a fair bit cheaper than the slightly more luxurious brands. I've used the Maybelline Mousse and often use the Dream Satin Liquid. I decided to give this one a try as it was new to the range when I first ... saw it and I love to try new products out.
The Maybelline Fit Me foundation variety stands out on the make up stand as the packaging looks much more sophisticated and expensive than that of their other foundations and products. It comes in a clear, thick glass bottle which is square shaped with a black, square lid which has FIT written on in big silver letters. It looks like quite an expensive brand like MAC or something from a distance. It says on the advert that the Maybelline Fit me foundation can match any skin tone so it looks more natural.
The black, plastic lid screws off the top off the bottle to reveal the bottle neck. This is one thing I dislike majorly as there is no pump so you have to tip the bottle up to get the foundation out. I don't use a make-up sponge or brush either so I have to try and get it on my fingers without getting it everywhere else which has proved quite tricky on more than one occasion. It's quite difficult to determine how much foundation comes out so I have to get it out bit at a time quite slowly to avoid waste or using too much.
The foundation is available in 18 shades, from a very pale ivory to darker sunny beige colours and everything inbetween. The large shade variety means you're able to get a colour that closely resembles your skin colour which I like. I opted for the sandy beige colour. I normally wear fawn in the Maybelline liquid but they didn't have it in store when I bought this so I got what looked like the closest thing.
The foundation, once you've got it out the bottle, spreads accross the skin with ease so you don't have to use very much to get quite good coverage. It blends in well and seems to match my skintone quite accurately. I don't cake my foundation on and use it to even out my skin tone and cover minor blemishes which it did well. It feels quite light on the skin so you don't feel as though your face is heavy or dirty which I've experienced in the past with other foundations. It doesn't offer the best coverage, my blemishes are quite minor and I had to use a little extra foundation on these areas to try and even it out.
The foundation feels quite good and gives the skin quite an even, almost blemish free look. It doesn't make my face look shiny either which means I don't have to put powder ontop if I don't want to. It doesn't last paticularly well and I felt it needed re-applying after about 4-5 hours but this is the average kind of time for most foundations that I wear. I think I must touch my face a lot during the day without realising.
This foundation could be good for use in the summer (If we get one this year!) as it has an SPF of 18 which is quite good but as I said it doesn't last paticualrly well and may not last as well in the heat meaning if you don't re-apply, you also lose the SPF. I really dislike the lack of pump which for me is a deal-breaker. I'd rather pay a little extra for the pump or carry on using the Maybelline Liquid satin foundation that has one on it as it's just easier, cleaner and allows you to properly finish the foundation off as you can take the lid off it when it's almost empty and get the last little bits out but you can't do this with this foundation.
The Fit Me range also do colour-matching concealers that go hand in hand with the foundations as well as powders so if you like the range, you can use the same products allover which I think is good. I think the Fit Me range is available wherever Maybelline cosmetics are sold now as it's been out for a while. I've seen it in Boots and Superdrug as well as their online stores though I'd recommend buying foundation in store to get a true colour match.
A bottle of this foundation will set you back £7.99 which is about the average price for foundation these days. It's not the best foundation I've used but it's certainly not the worst either. For the same price and brand though, I'd rather use the liquid satin as it has a pump and slightly better coverage. Read the complete review |
