“ Brand: Miss Guided / Type: Splash / Suitable for: Lip „
I received this product as a gift a couple of years ago and have only recently begun to use it. Mine is the watermelon colour, but it also comes in chili red and clear.
The container is a 5 inch long, square plastic tube, which does have quite sharp edges. It is transparent for the main part, with a shiny, black plastic, screw-on lid. There is a label on one side with Missguided's logo, and some information on the back. The lipsplash was made in China, and contains 7ml. It should be used within 12 months of opening.
The lipsplash itself is a dark pink/red colour, and is quite thick and sticky. The wand-applicator inside the lid makes it easy to apply just the right amount. Its smells nice and fruity and my lips feel moist but not too wet after application. My lips look dark pink and have a lovely shine for the rest of the day. If I do happen to taste the lipsplash, it does taste quite nice and for a while after applying I can still smell it.
The Missguided range is available to purchase from www.missguided.co.uk and this lipsplash is currently priced at £5 on there. I feel this is a little pricey compared to other lip products, so I would look out for it on offer before purchasing again.
Overall a good product, so I award 4 stars, as it is expensive, but smells great, is long lasting and looks good.
~ The Lipsplash ~
I got given the lipsplash by a friend whom seemed to have a selection of the glosses as well as nail polish. These were all in a bag so I'm not sure if this person worked for this website at one point or not. The lipsplash is a clear lip gloss and is available to buy from www.missguided.co.uk for £5.00. This is a little more than I would pay for lip gloss, how-ever as it was a freebie I wasn't complaining to thought I would at least try it out. The colourless gloss is perfect for wearing alone or over the top of a matte lipstick to add high shine and finish. You can also select other coloured lip glosses from the website which includes pinks and reds.
The lip gloss comes in a square tube. The bottom half of the tube is clear and you can see the lip gloss wand in the tube itself in the clear lip gloss. On this part of the tube it says missguided lip splash. On the back is it gives you a list of ingredients and it also lists their website. The lid to the tube is a shiny black colour. The lip gloss comes in very simple packaging; how-ever I think the packaging is very much the same as most other lip glosses that are available to buy.
~ Using the Product ~
I twisted the lid and slid the wand out from the tube. The first thing I noticed was a sweet smell to the gloss. The smell reminded me of sweets or cupcakes as it just smelt delicious. As the gloss smelt slightly sweet I was wondering if it would have a slight sweet taste to it as well. The wand to the lip gloss is white including the soft tip which you apply the lip gloss with. I wanted to apply this over the top of a lipstick for a high shine and finish. I gently applied the gloss over a light pink coloured lipstick. The gloss was easy to apply and was slightly thinner than I thought it would be. As I applied the lip gloss this took off a lot of the lipstick with it, even though I was applying it gently. I actually had to apply some more lipstick over the lip gloss as most of the colour had gone. The lip gloss gave my lips a lovely shine and they didn't feel sticky which can sometimes occur when using lip glosses. The lip gloss didn't taste sweet as I thought it would have, it didn't taste of anything. The lip gloss was fairly long lasting and left my lips looking shiny for a good amount of time before I had to re-apply it after having a few drinks. I never tend to use lip gloss on bare lips, how-ever I thought I would give this a try so I could record the results. The lip gloss went on easily, and gave my lips a high shine. The lip gloss didn't dry my lips out or make them sore.
~ Overall Opinion ~
I wouldn't have purchased this lip gloss from the website, as I prefer to buy beauty products in my local Boots store. I think the lip-gloss is a little pricey at £5.00 as my current lip gloss I use on a regular basis isn't this much and it has better results as well. This lip gloss is perfect for wearing on it's own to add a high shine to your lips. I wouldn't recommend using this over a lipstick as I find that it tends to take the colour off rather than do anything else. If you do apply the lip gloss you will need to re-apply the lipstick again over the top. This means that you do get a little bit of lip gloss left on your lipstick; how-ever this can be wiped gently with a clean tissue to get rid of this. I wouldn't buy this lip gloss as I think there are much better one's available to buy. For a freebie lip gloss I can't really complain. I give this product 3 out of 5 stars.
