Miss Sporty Hollywood lip goss
I tend to buy several lip glosses at any given time and because I generally lose them, I don't like to spend a fortune on them.
I bought this fromSuperdrug and it cost aroud the £3 mark which isn't bad for a lip gloss. They are available in lots of different colours, more than 20 I believe and all have names which are pertinent to the Holywood Hills. I for example have the Malibu Beach but there are also such names as Sunset Boulevard, Malibu Street and Miami Beach. There are the usual range of pinks and res but also in the range are blues and golds and purples so something for every occasion.
It caims to give ultra glossy lips for a full Glam look, and indeed when I looked at all of the lip glosses they did all look a bit sparkly. The product also promises that you will need no touch-ups. or top coats and that there will be no feathering. or fading. Tall order for something in this price range.
The product comes in the usual lip gloss tube and when I unscrew the lid I see that I apply it with a small applicator sponge. This sponge proves to be remarkably effective at getting a good layer of the stuff onto my lips with just one application so it clearly loads plenty of the product onto the sponge. Mine is a kind of pale pink colour when I look at it through the bottle and it does look very sparkly. However when I apply it to my lips it thankfully just looks like a normal lip colour and although it does look glossy it doesn't look sparkly. For me this makes it a good one for everyday and night time use.
As far as longevity is concerned, it does the usual, and does tend to come off if I eat or drink anything. However if I manage to avoid this and excessive lip licking then it does have a reasonable chance of staying on my lips for several hours. It is slightly sticky so I do tend to keep rubbing my lips together to rid myself of the stickiness and this then makes it lose its glossiness.
WHAT I THINK OF IT...
I like to wear a lip gloss which is a natural shade because I feel then that I am protecting my ips from the elements so this was a plus point. The colour is a good one and I don't feel overly made up, but for night time it does give the glossy look. On the downside it is sticky and not especially long lasting.
An average lip gloss which is reasonably priced but which I wouldn't necessariy seek out to buy again.
Thanks for reading
For days when I want just a little colour on my lips to brighten up my face I always turn to this trusty little lip gloss. I bought it about 4 months ago and I still have quite a lot left. The fact that it only set me back £2.99 is an absolute bonus. You don't get anything for that amount of money these days!
This lipgloss comes in a plastic tube, with one end being black and the other is clear so that you can see the lipgloss through the container. It has silver writing on the clear bit (although looks pink due to the product inside) and I do think the writing looks a bit childish. I think this range of makeup called Miss Sporty is aimed at teenagers but that doesn't bother me, the more cheap and cheerful the better!
The sponge applicator is inside the lid and it is very easy to apply the gloss. You only need a small amount as it is so shiny and wet that a little bit goes a long way. I only apply to my bottom lip and then just press my lips together to smudge it in and even it all out. The lipgloss doesn't last very long on my lips but you can apply it regularly if you keep it with you and it is so easy to just smudge onto your lips every now and then that I'm not bothered about its staying power. I have other lipsticks which I use if I want a long lasting look.
As I said earlier, this only costs £2.99 for a 7ml tube and so far I have only seen this range in Boots. The colour I use is called `Call My Agent' which is a funny name for it but I can only imagine if it's aimed at young people this might draw them in.
A great, cheap lip gloss for a lovely wet look on your lips. As long as you're not looking for staying power, this will do the job nicely!
Miss Sporty is a brand which has been around for quite some time. The products of Miss sporty aren't that expensive but still good and it's something that my daughters and I still buy now. This product is the Miss Sporty Hollywood Lip gloss.
Miss sporty is a brand of the company Coty Inc. and by the many acquisitions they are the world leader in the field of fragrances. They have many fragrances in cooperation with celebrities. Coty is privately owned by Joh. A. Benckiser.
This lip gloss has a luxurious feel and is definitely an eye catcher on the dresser of teenage girls. The wand is white and looks quiet cheap and it's easy to apply. The color of gloss you can already see on the outside and with the glitter it certainly lives up to the name of "Hollywood".
The color of the gloss is pretty bright pink with a glitter diamond shine effect. The smell is delicious and tasty. Light sweet so it is a pleasure to apply. It's slightly syrupy but easy to spread and gives a nice effect on your lips
Unfortunately the lip gloss color and the glitter effect rubs off quickly when you for example eats or when you kiss someone. It's not something that stays on your lips for long. It's also something that stays merely on your lips and doesn't really get absorb.
Unfortunately I could not find the ingredients of this lip gloss, I could only find that the gloss is not tested on animals which is also very important of course. I also think it a good lip gloss for the night when you go out. It is not as bright as lipstick but brighter than a normal gloss. However, it rubs off very quickly and you apply it many times. I think it's also more for teenagers due to the glitter diamond shine effect. Overall great product for the price of 2,99 pounds.
I recently had a sparkly themed BBQ for my 21st birthday. As the birthday girl, I of course needed to look sparkly for my big day, so I enlisted the help of all the sparkly products I could find. Whilst scouring the shelves of Boots (I don't do this too often as I find it much pricier than Superdrug), I came across Miss Sporty "Hollywood Lipgloss". The shade I bought was 020 Malibu Beach, which is a light pink shade. There are 10 shades to choose from in total.
This lipgloss will set you back £2.99, which is probably the lower end of the lipgloss market when you compare it with companies such as Mac or Revlon even. Miss Sporty are typically a budget brand, so I wasn't expecting a miracle product - I just wanted something with lots of shimmer and sparkle!
When going to apply the lipgloss, I noticed it was difficult to get much product on the wand. The wand itself is the white, fluffy variety of applicators. Not my favourite because it feels a bit cheap on your lips as you apply it. When you separate the applicator from the bottle, you actually notice how cheap it looks. It's simply black and white cheap plastic. Eeeek!
"Miss Sporty Hollywood lipgloss is the ultimate seduction weapon. This lipgloss contains high reflection pearls: for a 3 dimensional shine effect. The diamond shine will give you a taste of A-list glamour."
I bought this lipgloss for the dazzling shine I was hoping to achieve, but unfortunately the end result leaves little to be desired. Even though it's very glittery in the tube, barely any glitter comes out with the wand, no matter how many coatings I apply. Although Malibu beach is a pinky shade, I couldn't detect any pinkyness at all once applied... infact it just looks clear. So basically, my lips are slighty shiny with about 1 spec of glitter on them - not what I was hoping for. After about a minute my lips feel like they are drying out and don't feel nice at all.
Although I mentioned £2.99 is typically the lower end of the market for lipglosses... that's still £3 of my hard earned cash down the drain. It's the type of product which looks amazing under the shop lights and pretty display - but ultimately it's a let down. It's frustrating because it's not a product you can really return for hygiene reasons, yet I know I won't get the use out of it. I could have bought 3 Mc Flurry's instead...
I would say this is a lipgloss more suited to teenagers just starting to experiment with make-up, who are just trying to find what suits them and don't want anything crazy applied to their face. The silver illustrations on the packaging also fit this market quite well - Miss Sporty is simply aimed at the younger audience.
In the end, I used a sheer lipgloss over some lipstick for my party. My sparkly lips simply were not to be! Thankfully I compensated with sparkly eyelashes. My advice - avoid this product. If you really want a nice lipgloss, then spend a little bit more to get a quality product, and result.
