I bought one of these last week while out doing the last bit of christmas shopping and I decided to spend a couple of quid on myself. I spotted this in Superdrug at just £2.49 and thought I'd give one a go - I have to say it didn't leap off the shelf at me packaging wise (a very bland dark blue tube which doesn't even have the 'miss sporty' branding along it anymore), I was specifically on the prowl for cheap makeup!
There were a number of colours on the shelf to choose from - mostly varying shades of pink. I went for shade 007 aka I'm sweet, which is an incredibly pale pink, as this is different to any lipstick I have at home (usually earthier tones and a couple of deeper reds). This one appealed to me because I thought being such a paler colour it may 'blend in' a bit better with my natural skin tones and give a more understated look. In retrospect this was probably a poor choice and I won't be buying it again as the colour is actually paler than my facial skin meaning it just doesn't suit me, I'd probably only suggest this shade for people with very pale skin.
Looking at this aside from the chosen shade, I have to say I'm not as impressed with this lipstick as it appears other reviewers have been. Application is smooth but you definitely need to exfoliate in advance as this stuff really clings to any dry areas, really emphasising them. I also found that it is a bit on the waxy side and seems to collect in the natural creases/wrinkles that form the skin of your lips, which when you look at it closeup it isn't a very attractive look (uneven colour distribution). I don't think this is down to me having odd lips either as I've tried plenty of other lipsticks without this result. I also noted that you pull the tube to open it, this opens so easily that I feel it's also likely to come apart in your bag if you happen to take your makeup out with you, which isn't exactly an unusual thing to do.
To give credit where it's due, there are a few things in its favour - the colour is quite strong so you don't need to layer it up and it doesn't bleed across the lip line (I never use a lip liner) and it doesn't give a sticky finish.
Other things I should probably note are that while 'I'm sweet' looks to me to be a matt colour whilst looking at it in the tube, it does give a shimmery finish to the lips and I think this is one of the reasons why it doesn't really suit me, I'm not sure whether all the available shades will be a similar finish in this respect. It has an artificial, although not unpleasant, aroma attached to it - it's a familiar smell to me, I just can't place where from! There's no taste to this, unpleasant or otherwise.
Overall I'm not sure if I could recommend this with the possible exception of people wanting a particular colour cheap for a one off event, or teenagers who have pocket money to spend and get bored of things quickly.
I am not sporty in any way, in fact wearing this lipstick is about as sporty as I get. I started buying these for my daughter as they are aimed at the younger generation, but I needed a lipstick at short notice and this was the first thing I put my hands on, used it and was rather surprised.
The favourite colours at the moment are Cream 024, Brownie 206 and Lovely 119, I have to admit, all the colours seem to be relatively the same shade, this might just be me though, my daughter doesn't agree with me. They are all very light and creamy shades, which I wear when popping to the shop etc. On a night out I would wear something more dramatic but for a frosty, shimmery look these are ideal.
The case is a dark blue colour with Miss Sporty emblazoned along the side in gold lettering, very hard to miss really. £1.25 each at Amazon is a price not be sneezed at, these keep both my daughter and me happy. There are many colours in this range and they all have a long life to them, they last well and go on easily without pulling the lips. The colour is quite shimmery and frosty, some of the lighter colours are nice to add a little extra edge to another lipstick. If I am wearing a brown lipstick for example, I would add a touch of Brownie along my lower lip to give it that little shine to it. I can't praise this little lipstick enough, great for youngsters (of all ages).
The other day whilst in town I decided to treat myself for once and not my home or my pets! On a budget though but wanting a new lip colour I found myself looking at the cheaper products opposed to my usual Max Factor and Boots No7 lippies and this range stuck in my head as I have quite a few Miss Sporty make up products that I have been surprisingly very pleased with and when looking on the Miss Sporty stand one colour almost jumped off the shelf as a very 'me' shade which was a lovely pinky shade called Kiss Me however there are at the moment 6 shades to choose from which are mainly pinks, a bronzy shade and a black! So there arnt that many shades to choose from at the moment but I have to admit liking all the shades I had to choose from apart from the black!
The packaging of this is quite simple. It simply is a dark blue plastic tube which twists up and down with ease with a matching long lid that goes over that and down the side of it we are told what it is and on the base of the lippie the colour is stated and contact details for Miss Sporty are given. I do think that the packaging of this is a bit cheap looking but for me its always the product that counts to be honest!
This is a really nice lipstick, feels hydrating when applied, my colour goes on rather sheer and I did happen to pick the right shade for me for once! Application of it is easy due to the tip of the lipstick being angled, I can use a lipliner if I want to, to define the shape of my lips, pop a lipgloss over it whatever....... me though I just pop this on as it doesn't tend to bleed on my lips.
Feeling nice and soft on my lips this isn't a greasy lipstick or a thick caked on one either. Once on I get about 3 hours of colour from this however if smoking, eating or drinking considerably less however I don't mind that as it simply fades off with no crusting or collecting on my lips at all.
All In All:
I paid £2.59 for my lipstick though at the moment in my local Boots they do have an offer on of buy one get one product half price from this range which makes this even better value and I am actually going to Boots tomorrow to get myself another couple! These are simply a really good economy buy and are kind to my lips, give them a nice even cover and colour and although I don't find them that long lasting on my lips compared to more expensive brands they do the job and I don't mind reapplying it as and when I need to!

A while ago I was trying to save up some money and as I had banned myself from buying clothes and shoes I decided I needed some little treats to keep me going through those tough months.
I treated myself to some cheap make-up items now and then to brighten up my days.
I got a few Miss Sporty lipsticks and I have been impressed with them.
I have shade 020 which is a light pearly pink, shade 200 which is a light gold colour and I have 201 which is a rich darker gold colour!
~ Packaging ~
The lipstick comes in a dark blue clear plastic stick with the words 'Miss Sporty' down the side in white lettering. There is a sticker on the bottom of the lipstick which tells you the number of the shade, but the name of the shade is not on there.
The packaging is fairly simple, but I like it and I like the dark blue colouring.
I think Miss Sporty might have changed their packaging more recently to a bright pink colour, but mine seems to be the older style of packaging.
~ Price and availability ~
Miss Sporty perfect colour lipstick is available in Boots and Superdrug for around £2.59. It is also available online at Amazon.co.uk. You can also buy it direct on www.miss-sporty.co.uk for £2.59. It is available on their website in 20 different colours.
~ Product ~
Twisting the lipstick up, the actual product is about an inch up to the tallest point.
The lipstick is shaped so that it can be applied easily with a flat angled edge. The lipstick glides easily over your lips and the colour does not need to be gone over or built up. All of the colours I have used, I have been impressed with and my gold coloured lipsticks don't look unnatural, tacky or over the top even if a gold lipstick may sound like it would.
The lipstick is creamy and moisturising. It is not drying at all like some lipsticks can be and it is not sticky or tacky - it feels natural on your lips. It isn't as moisturising as some of the more expensive brands I have used, but it is more than I would expect from a product priced at just £2.59.
It claims to 'hydrate your lips keeping them soft and moisturised', which is a claim I would have to agree with. It also claims to last 6 hours. I would agree that it is long lasting, but it does need to be reapplied after eating and drinking, but as I have mentioned in other reviews, this is something I have found with all lipsticks I have used.
~ Overall ~
Overall, I think this is a great lipstick for the price. It is moisturising, looks good, it is long lasting (until you eat or drink that is) and it is easy to apply. I would definitely consider some more lipsticks by Miss Sporty and would recommend them to anyone considering buying one. They come in a wide range of colours meaning there will be something that appeals to most people.
Review of Miss Sporty Perfect Colour Lipstick.
Miss Sporty is a basic, budget range of cosmetics from the well-known Coty Company. Miss Sporty products are widely available from High street stores and various online outlets.
The shade I have in front of me as I write this review is shade number 174, which I believe is called 'Malaga'. It is a rich, deep plum/red shade, a glossy lipstick presented in a dead boring navy blue container. The packaging is really basic, made of hard plastic; it consists of just a pull off lid covering a twist up lipstick. I purchased this lipstick from Superdrug a couple of months ago and paid around £2.50 for it.
Miss Sporty have a wide range of lipstick colours ranging from pale pinks through to black so there is something for almost everyone.
**In My Experience**
The lipstick I have is a shiny formula as opposed to a matt effect. It glides on very well, giving an even and smooth coverage. Being a 'stick' lipstick I tend to apply straight from the tube, rather than with a brush as I do when using a palette style of lipstick. The lipstick feels pleasant on the lips, it is not greasy or sticky and it has no nasty chemically taste, the way some lipsticks do. I also find that this lipstick is very true to colour, in the past I have had issues with lipsticks looking totally different on the skin, but not so with this particular shade, it is just the same on the lips as it is in the tube.
All in all, I am pleased with the colour, coverage and ease of application of Miss Sporty Perfect Colour Lipstick.
Where this lipstick falls down is the staying power. It is fine for an hour or so, but that it seems to wear off very quickly, leaving me with bare skin in the middle of my lips and an edging of colour, not an attractive look or one I think anyone would wish to emulate!
I find this lipstick needs touching up very regularly in order to keep your lip colour fresh.
On the plus side, the lipstick does not 'bleed' into the fine lines around my lip line which can be a problem for some women of my age group.
**Final Thoughts and Conclusion**
I am not loyal to any brand of cosmetics, I tend to buy products that catch my eye or are in a colour that I happen to be looking for. Miss Sporty is, I feel, aimed at the younger end of the market and as such, the range offers value for money and a pretty good selection of products.
For me, this lipstick is good enough for the money, it does not last long so loses points on the staying power but as it is not a colour I wear regularly, that is not really too much of a problem in my opinion. I bought this lipstick to wear for a special occasion and it has served the purpose. I do not tend to wear red toned lipsticks that much so although I wanted this shade, I didn't want to spend very much on it. At £2.50 this is a veritable bargain and I would definitely buy again from this range.
I am awarding Miss Sporty Perfect Colour lipstick a 4* rating, dropping a star for limited staying power.
I would recommend this lipstick to others.
Thank you for reading.

Miss Sporty is a brand that I probably would have been more drawn towards as a young teenager to find something to shock my parents with and spend my pocket money on a really bright lipstick that I would apply without a mirror in the back of a car or something, you can imagine the results. The makeup range is stocked in Boots and Superdrug.
I've tended to avoid the Miss Sporty brand as a whole for quite a while but it wasn't until recently that I was on the hunt for a nice pink lipstick that wasn't going to cost me more than a few pounds. I found they had a range of about 15 colours but I believe they do actually have 20 shades in their lipstick range. They were priced at £2.59 in Superdrug but I have also seen them combined with a eyeshadow or a lipgloss in poundland usually in the older bright pink packaging.
All the lipsticks I swatched on the back of my hand all seemed to have a slight shimmer and a few were slightly more matte. They have a good range of colours if your after a pink or a red, they have thrown in a orange and a black for good measure but theres not a huge range but for the price you can't be too choosy!
I brought the colour "Kiss Me" which I have found to be a milky pink mauve colour which gives quite a natural sheer finish with a slight touch of shimmer but not too much that it looks like I am wearing a 10 year olds lipstick.
The lipstick itself glides on smoothly and the texture is creamy and soft. It doesn't smudge and isn't sticky or gooey and it actually feels quite moisturising. Miss Sporty have made in my opinion some big claims that it is a "long lasting colour for up to 6 hours" which I definiately don't agree with. You would probably need to re-apply every hour or two at a push. Although for the price I know that I wouldn't have to panic how often I apply as it is so affordable.
Even though the staying power isn't fantastic I really do love the colour I have brought and in my eyes for the price you cannot expect too much! I will re-buy this again as my budget lipstick.
These Miss Sporty Lipsticks are really good value, mine is definitely the least expensive lipstick I own or have ever seen anywhere, but it is a really good lipstick and better than you'd think it would be for one this cheap.
They come in really good colours, mine stands out nicely and is really vibrant, but some of the colours they do are also quite subtle and look naturally pretty.
Once applied, the lipstick doesn't stay on too well, and it needs to be reapplied often, but this is not hard to do because it is pretty good for travelling and for on the go, this is because it fits well in your handbag or even just in your pocket.
The lipstick does fade, but doesn't smudge at all which is a plus. You also can't feel that it is on your lips, because it isn't sticky or gooey, which is also a plus.
I noticed that noone has written a review for this product yet and since I have used it a lot I thought I may aswell be the first!!
The Miss sporty range is availiable in most of the big high street drug stores such as Superdrug and Boots. There is a large range of shades of this particular product, probably a large enough range to challenge the more well known brands in fact! You are very likely to find a shade to suit you and unlike some of the larger brands you don't have to feel guilty afterwards!
This product is very affordable and if like me you tend to wear lipsticks down quite quickly it's nice to not have to panic about not being able to restock due to finances! This means you can be as generous as you want with the lipstick and wear it as often as it suits you!
The lipstick itself is pretty durable and quite long lasting but again if it does start to fade you can just stick some more on.
The range not only includes a range of shades but also of textures, there are some block matte colours and some glittery varieties in there. My personal favourite was a lovely pink shade I stumbled upon which I was so relieved to find after weeks of looking for the perfect shade.
The best thing about this lipstick is you can try it out, it is that inexpensive that you can buy a shade, test it out and if it's not working for you try a new one next time and you can probably afford to do this about 3 or 4 times before you've matched the price of one of the bigger brands products.
I say for everyday wear this is the without a doubt the most suitable lipstick and that the more expensive ones should be saved for big occasions.....or payday!
