My mum bought me this mascara for Christmas and I'm so glad she did, it's amazing! It only costs £3.49 so I wasn't expecting much from it but I think it's actually turned out to be the best mascara I've ever tried!
The packaging is a bit garish and cheap and cheerful. It's bright green with silver writing so there's no chance of it going un-noticed. The brush is a plastic one with short stubby little spikes rather than bristles like a normal brush.
It's really easy to apply it and the brush is the perfect size to get to all of my lashes. It goes on quickly and smoothly, but it does take a while to dry so you have to be careful or you'll end up with it all around your eyes as well as on your eyeashes.
This makes my eyelashes look so long and lovely and perfectly defined. The brush separates my lashes without any effort at all and it doesn't leave any clumps or stick my lashes together like spiders legs. It also seems to give my lashes a slight curl to make my eyes look more wide open, as if I've used curlers.
Once it's dried properly it doesn't smudge or wear off at all and it stays on all day looking perfect, but it comes off really easily with a basic makeup remover.
I bought this mascara as part of a 3 for 2 deal in Boots and I can say Im very happy with it.
My eyes look like little piggys in the morning, so this instant volume studio lash mascara really opens them up. I have the jet black colour, and apply one coat on upper and lower eyelashes. It can get a little bit clumpy as is the problem with cheaper brands, but that is easily fixed with a quick wipe.
The brush is plastic and the spikes on the end really stick out and get those lashes that you cant normally get.
It dries very quickly which is great if you in a rush. It stays on pretty much all day as well, which is good as I dont have the sort of job where I can just keep going off to put on more makeup.
There is no packaging which is good for the environment, it just comes as it is, make sure you dont buy the tester by accident! It is the pink bottle, as there are several, one blue, one green and this pink one.
I can recommend this mascara to girls who may have very light eyelashes and want a big look but dont want to use false eyelashes. It lasts for around 2 months before it starts to dry up, but there is still a lot left in the bottle and I use it every day!
Its also under a fiver for all you bargin hunters.
This is how the Studio Lash mascara from Miss Sporty describes itself:
"Ultimate eye opening mascara with instant lash sculpting and perfectly separating next-generation applicator.
Lashes are lifted up to 70% and longer up to 60%.
Zero clumps. Smudge proof. Smear proof. Ophthalmologically tested.
Made in England by Coty Paris."
I don't normally buy Miss Sporty but I had a Boots voucher to use up so I thought I'd give it a try. I paid £2.93 for it which was one of the cheaper brands, and I got the black one but it also comes in brown and waterproof.
The applicator is very different to your normal mascara brush, it's a like a small, rounded plastic comb. I've found that the mascara clumps very easily on this brush, especially at the end and it's very difficult to wipe the excess off as it doesn't bend very much.
Every single time I've applied it I've had lumps of mascara on my eyelashes which I've had to comb off using a separate eyelash brush. Plus it's very sticky so my eyelashes needed combing to separate them. Even after wearing it for a few hours it still had a tacky texture and my bottom lashes would try to cling onto my top ones if I blinked too hard! Not very "eye opening" if you ask me!
One claim it got right is that it doesn't smear once it's dry. It's not waterproof as it says. I tried the waterproof test anyway: no, I didn't force myself to cry! I sprayed a fine mist of water onto my eyes and it didn't run but as soon as I wiped them it did all smudge and I was a typical panda-eyes!
I found it very easy to remove using ordinary wet wipes and you don't need any special make-up remover.
After checking their website, it seems Miss Sporty doesn't test on animals (although I'm sure their parent company, Coty, does).
All that said, it does make your eyelashes look longer and bigger however I'm not entirely sure that they're really 60% longer. If you want a very cheap and basic mascara and don't mind spending time sorting out the clumps then you could give this a try. Personally, I'm going to try to finish using it up (if it doesn't annoy me too much first!) then not bother buying it again.
