“ Brand: Models Own / Type: Nail polish „
I recently went to my local TK Maxx on the off chance that I may actually find something that I like, which is not very often. I heard that they sell beauty products as well as clothes and therefore when to have a browse through what they had on offer. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw some american brands such as OPI and also things like Urban Decay and then came across a set of 3 'Models Own' nail polish.
I am a proper nail polish addict, I own over 100 different colours and brands and am always willing to try new brands, high end or drugstore. I had heard of models own through a forum that I go on but never seen it sold in my local shops and therefore snapped up this bargain in TK Maxx to give them a go.
I purchased a set of 3 for £6 which is really cheap when compared to their online store where they cost £5 each plus postage. For £2 a piece I was happy and tried them out as soon as i got home.
By far my favourite colour was 'Blue Moon' which is the colour in the photo above. It is a gorgeous shimmery light blue colour. I would describe it as an icy blue. On the nail it can look a bit silver in different lights but this is what I love about it. I have not seen a colour like it before and it instantly became my favourite polish, great for nights out!
The product itself came in a see through box with two other colours, though I don't think this is standard unless you purchase in a gift set. However the container itself is made of a sturdy glass structure and resembles the 'nails inc' design. By this I mean it comes in a cylindrical pot with a plastic white lid that is easy to hold and apply. It has 'Models Own' clearly written on it in big letters, and on the back it has a little information such as where it was made (England) and how much product there is in millilitres, in this case I got a large 14ml size, which is a lot of product when it comes to nail polish. It also ha the website for more information and colours.
My job involves working with a lot of money and counting coins etc on a daily basis, therefore I look for a strong durable nail polish that isn't going to chip easy. I have to say that this colour/brand really surprised me as usually i chip on the first couple of days, however this actually lasted at least 4 days before any chipping at all. There was no need for a top coat at all.
I believe that this brand is very good, well worth paying the extra £2 or so for its durability and gorgeous colour range. I will be buying more of these for sure, maybe off the website though so I can actively choose the colours I want.
