I really like the MUA range of makeup and most of my makeup bag now consists of their products, one item I really like is their mascara.
This is priced at just £1 and is available from Superdrug or from MUA direct, I normally buy mine from Superdrug as delivery is free when I spend over £10 and I tag it on to an order for toiletries, they often have 3 for 2 promotions running too making this even more of a bargain.
There are 6 different colours available, pink, clear, brown, black, blue and green, I am not brave enough to try any of the bright colours and being quite dark, I always use the black version. It comes in a chunky black tube which has silver lettering on the side and looks very similar to most mascara products on the market. Upon removing the lid, there is a standard looking wand which has small soft bristles on.
Upon applying the mascara, I find that the consistency is really good, it transfers onto my lashes really easily and doesn’t clump together like other brands I have used in the past. I find that for work, I only need to apply one coat and this defines my lashes really well, if I am going out, the mascara can be layered up to give my lashes a fuller and longer look.
At the end of the day, the mascara is still in place and I don’t end up with panda eyes, it is worth noting that this isnt waterproof however this doesn’t bother me as most mascaras I use aren’t, there is a waterproof version available and I think this is priced at £2. With this not being waterproof, I do find that removing my make up at the end of the day is really easy and I don’t have to rub my eyes with a cotton wool pad to remove, it simply wipes off.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this mascara, I have been using now for a few years and it is definitely one of my favourites.
Thanks for reading.
I have started to buy quite a few pieces of MUA make up from Superdrug as I have found that they are very good quality and are a fraction of the price of a lot of other brands. A friend had recommended this mascara to me and had said how good it was. I hadn't used it before so I thought I would give it a try and bought it for the very reasonable price of £2. It comes in extreme black, and black brown and I chose the black brown as I have quite fair skin and thought that the extreme black would look a bit harsh on me. It comes in a 7ml size which is average for a mascara and is black with the usual mascara screw top. It has the words Extreme Volume Mascara and MUA Make Up Academy Professional written on the side of the wand in white.
The actual wand is quite thick with large soft spaced out bristles as it is an extreme volume mascara and it does seem to collect a lot of mascara each time you pull it out and I have never had to pump the wand though which is good as this can dry it out. I will usually start at the outer edge of my eyelashes and then sweep the brush forwards and then repeat this through to the inner edge, and then do the same with my lower lashes. I find that one application is usually sufficient to create enough volume on my eyelashes.
I find that this mascara is easy to remove with make up wipes or make up remover lotion and cotton wool and although it is quite intense and thick I have never found that I have traces of it on my face or on the pillow in the morning.
This isn't my daily mascara as I don't really wear much make up for work and although I do wear mascara every day I prefer a normal one which just enhances my eyelashes and doesn't make them look too full or dark. However for a more pronounced look for evenings or even if you just like the fuller make up look this mascara is amazing and I can't fault it.
I have had this mascara for over twelve months now and it is showing no signs of running or drying out. I always use this mascara in the evenings when I go out and I would say that I probably use this about two or three times a week. I have never experienced any clumping on my eyelashes and it definitely makes my eyelases look longer and thicker and gives the impression that I have spent a lot of time on them, although my eyelashes are still separated and do still look quite natural.
At £2 I think this is a fabulous mascara and I will definitely buy this one again, or other similar mascaras in this range. This is highly recommended by me and deserves five out of five stars.
