~ MUA Eyebrow Pencil ~
I am naturally very fair, my hair is naturally light blonde and to go with the blonde hair I also have very fair eyebrows which lighten in the sun very quickly so I decided that I could do with an eyebrow pencil and I knew that Superdrug have the MUA (Makeup Academy) range and that this range is all rather cheap, with a lot of the products being just £1.
My local Superdrug is rather small so the MUA stand was very simple to spot so I had a good look at what was on offer and found the eyebrow pencils in no time at all. There are two colours available - Blonde or Brunette. I chose the blonde as I didn't want a massively drastic change and it looked a nice colour. It was only £1 so if I thought it may have been too light it wasn't as if I had spent an absolute fortune.
I was surprised by the length of the pencil, it's really long, around 7inches in length from lid to lid, notice I say lid to lid ... It has the pencil on one side and a brush on the other. The brush is around an inch in length and is a short stubby bristled eyebrow brush which is quite useful to have there on hand when doing your brows.
I don't really use a make-up bag as such but a vanity case so I have no problems in keeping this there but I don't think this would fit in a normal make-up bag.
I have been using this pencil now for about 2 months or so and I find it excellent. The nib is very soft and this makes it easy to use and simple to blend. I have needed to sharpen it only once yet and it sharpened well and didn't break or crumble at all, I used my sons sharpener (which lives in once of my make-up bags .... Oopps!) which obviously isn't one specified for eye pencils so I think any general sharpener is fine for these.
I follow my (natural ;o) ... plucked lol) brows and just fill in, I basically use it to add a little bit of colour to my very light brows and I find that the colour is very natural, I can see my brows and they now frame my face as they should. I am more than happy with the blonde shade, it is light enough to not make my brows stand out but dark enough to keep me happy!
For £1 you really can't complain. I think these are a fab addition to any make-up bag.
Find in Superdrug stores or online at www.muastore.co.uk priced at £1.
Summary: Although a little long to fit in make-up bags, this is something that can't be complained about.
