MUA Eyebrow Pencil
Advantages: only costs £1, good application, lasts well, easy to use
Disadvantages: could have more colours to choose from
If there's one thing I like to try and do it's maintaining my eyebrows. I find having decent eyebrows just makes the face look completely different and I feel a much more decent looking person once they are nicely shaped. I tend to get my eyebrows threaded (ouch!) about once a fortnight or so, and to help just give them that fully shaped look an eyebrow pencil can work wonders! It's not something I use everyday so when I saw it in the MUA range for a happy £1 I of course snapped it up!
The eyebrow pencil is a rather long thin pencil which comes in 2 colours - blonde and brunette. Not super helpful as my hair is rather black but I opted for the brunette as the darker of the 2 of course lol. It has a pencil at one end and a really decent plastic eyebrow comb on the opposite end. It has the simple MUA in silver along the side so you don't forget which brand it is lol.
The pencil, for a "brunette" shade is actually rather dark and doesn't look to brown and odd coloured in amongst my black haired eyebrows. The pencil is actually rather soft and easy to use which I was nicely surprised about! It isn't too sharp and is really simple to blend and create a natural, fuller look to nicely shaped eyebrows. I tend to find myself using the pencil more when my eyebrows are approaching the time when they need re-shaping and the brow pencil helps to hold the shape together a bit easier so I don't have 2 caterpillars crawling above my eyes! I am not at all a fan of the drawn on eyebrow types (eurgh!) so for me this is more just a small top up to creating a nice look to my brows and defining them. I find the eyebrow pencil holds well and doesn't smudge and lasts all day. Fortunately, I haven't found the nib to need sharpening often, perhaps as I only use this a few days of the month but nevertheless it is easy to sharpen. The pencil in my opinion is really long lasting as light application is needed to make a difference.
If I am really honest I am no pro at using an eyebrow brush and although when I get my brows threaded the makeup artist always uses one, I am yet to find a need to use mine and so it pretty much sits with the plastic covering on! It looks easy to use however and I am sure it does a good job at brushing through my little hairs lol.
Overall I really like this eyebrow brush and at a mere £1 it does the job for me up to a decent standard. It would be nice to have more colours and variety but nonetheless it gets 4 stars from me!
Summary: a decent eyebrow pencil from MUA to add to my collection :)
