MUA Eyebrow Pencil
Advantages: Cheap, works well
After reading several reviews on various sites about MUA make up I decided to give it a try and made it down to my local Superdrug to browse the section and see about buying some makeup. I am quite funny when it comes to make up as I am not the type of person who needs to wear it all the time, I can leave the house and go to Tesco's with just a bit of lipgloss on and not feel naked but when I meet up with my friends or go out on a special night I wouldn't dream f going without make up. I am getting a bit older now and I definitely think subtle but nice makeup enhances my face and covers up any blemishes that I may have.
I sometimes spend quite a bit of money on a piece that I know is going to last a long time such as my primer (Benefit That Gal) and eyeshadows (MAC make up), but then I also am just as likely to pay a couple of quid for a foundation or a lipgloss as I think it does just about the same job or even better than spending quite a lot of money on a more expensive product. This is the case with this eyebrow pencil from MUA. Firstly I will tell you a little bit about the brand that stands for Make Up Academy.
According to their website, "Great makeup doesn't need to cost the earth and it is MUA's promise to bring surprising quality, colour, fun and innovation to each and every product it delivers. Bringing guilt free makeup to every ladies makeup bag!
The team at MUA towers are constantly thinking of ways of creating fantastic products that deliver great value to your makeup bags. Inspired by playing with colour, there is something for everyone and with the introduction of the Professional range consumers can buy amazing palettes, foundations and primers all for under £4!"
This eyebrow pencil cost me the grand total of £1, yes £1 amazing right! I have quite think eyebrows, due to plucking them too much and so sometimes when I want a bit fuller of a look I like to add a bit of pencil to my eyebrows. I am not the type of person who draws a really heavy thin line in place of my eyebrow, no I like to use this pencil to add a bit of texture and bulk to my eyebrows and this pencil works well at doing that.
YOu can choose from two colours, blond and brunette and although I have blond hair I chose the brunette pencil which is a dark brown as I have quite dark brows. The product is in the shape of a regular pencil and when you first use it it has a really nice sharp point to it. I like to squish it down a bit though so I get a bigger end to work with as I find this gives me a better look. I find the pencil fairly soft so I can just delicately brush it onto my brows and they pick up some of the colour and just give it a bit more texture which is lovely. The effect will last until I take my make up off and you can't tell that I have added anything. What I love about this pencil is that it has a little brush as the other end for you to brush you brows with and I always finish off and do this so they look nice and tidy and all the hairs go in the same way. A little tip from a make up artist friend of mine, I then go over my brows with a toothbrush with some hairspray sprayed onto it so my brows stay in place and do not move, it works wonders.
This brush performs and looks way more expensive than its £1 price tag and is an eyebrow brush I definitely recommend.
