OPI Dry & Brittle Nail Envy
Advantages: Strong, helps protect nails, a good quality
Disadvantages: Does not keep nails protected once removed so you need to keep the process up
I have been trying to take better care of my nails for some time now. I have been using different nail treatments and trying different brands out. I have really found some good products within the Jessica range but quite recently a friend introduced me to the OPI nail range, I was browsing their products and found a bottle of the OPI Dry and Brittle Nail envy, after reading some information on the product it sounded perfect for treating my nails and so I made a purchase and started giving it a go.
There is only one store that sells this product in my local town, it is a small hair and beauty store and a bottle of this cost me £11.99. This is about the same price that I would pay for the Jessica products and so was not too shocked by the price tag. If you do not have a stockist near you then you can get it online on eBay as well as other online websites. QVC are also stockists of the brands.
The Nail Envy range has 4 different products to it from memory, I did have a look at all of them and there is a brief description of what each one does on the back of the bottle, my nails really do suffer in the winter months and so the dry and brittle formula was the one for me. The bottle comes in a cardboard package and has all the info on the packaging that tells you about this nail strengthener. Once you have taken the packaging off you are left with a clear bottle which has the OPI logo on the front as well as the name of the product on it.
On the reverse of the bottle are the instructions for use as well as the ingredients listings. The bottle has a black top that needs to be unscrewed to allow you to start using the product. The instructions state that you need to prepare the nail first, so cuticle care and filing, then you need to apply one coat with the brush that is attached to the top of the bottle and then another coat once this first coat is dry. What you then need to do is start using the product everyday to build up the strength in the nail. I did not find it any sort of effort trying to remember to apply the coat, I just left it on my bedside table and applied it of an evening.
The nail varnish is quick drying and the brush allows it to be applied really well, it has a smooth texture and the brush is medium in size so I did 3 strokes of the polish down the nail. I felt my nails feeling better with having this product on them, what this product isn't though is a permanent fix, once you have removed the polish and this can be done with your everyday nail polish remover, you will be back to how they were before.
The nail polish dries with a glossy finish so it looks like you have a clear polish on, when its on it is as if you have a protective layer I guess and my nails felt good and quite strong, after removal my nails did feel weak again so through the winter months I now try to use it as often as I can.
In summary, I have no hesitation in recommending this brand, I have been impressed with its strong qualities and that my nails don't flake when I have it on, it is really hard working I guess!
4 out of 5 form me on this one
Thank you for reading
