Beautiful nail polish that gives a stunning metallic finish

Being a bit of a beauty product addict, I always like to try out new things and vary the brands that I use. One of my most exciting discoveries in recent months has been finding online companies that provide beauty boxes. These usually contain various make-up, skin care, fragrance products etc, and I have been trying a few from different suppliers. I received my Nail Girls Medal Collection nail polish in my latest delivery from "Jolie Box". You can find further information at http://joliebox.co.uk/, and http://shop.nailgirlslondon.co.uk/.

I've never heard of the brand Nail Girls before receiving the products in my beauty box, but I am so glad to have discovered them. I love to do my nails and am always looking out for new brands and shades to add to my collection of nail polishes. I give myself a full manicure every week at home, and as I have long nails I like to make a lot of effort to keep them looking neat and in good condition. The Medal Collection was released by Nail Girls in celebration of the London 2012 Olympics, and was a limited edition set containing 4 minis; 3 colours and a 2-in-1 base coat. It costs £12 for the set, or full size polishes can be purchased individually for £10.50 each.

Product description: "Metallics are always in Vogue. But this Spring Summer 012 gold, silver and bronze shades are hotter than ever. Shimmer 'n' shine with these dazzling colours.
At nailgirls London we are all about non-toxic, 4 free from (formaldehyde, toluene, dbp & camphor), long lasting, high gloss, nail strengthening, low odour fashion nail polish colours.
Gold #2 Shimmering Pale Gold Foil.
Silver #2 Sparkling Star. A sparkling bright silver.
Bronze #1 The bronzed one. A glistening bronze shimmer.
2-in-1 Base/Top Coat A dual product. As a base coat helping the nail polish adhere to the nails for a longer lasting extended wear nail colour. A quick drying top coat, reduces chipping while leaving a glossy shine. Prevents the nails yellowing and staining. Contains a UV absorber so the nail colour will not fade or yellow."

In my beauty box I received 2 shades of the mini nail polishes and they were a really great introduction to the brand. I got the shades Gold #2, which I would describe as a pale neutral gold tone (not bright and yellow-toned like most gold shades), and also Bronze #1, which has a rich coppery tone to it. The colour is very rich in both polishes and is very different to other metallic nail polishes I've tried before that have an obvious element of shimmer or glitter within the polish. I find the polish really easy to apply as it is the perfect consistency to allow fluidity, but without being thin or runny. One coat of the polish goes on easily and spreads well giving a good level of colour, but I prefer to apply to coats of polish to get a bolder effect. The nail polish is quick drying and safe to touch without transferring or smudging after only a minimal amount of drying time which is really convenient.

What I love most about the Medal Collection is the quality of the polish formulation and the beautiful finish that it gives. The metallic effect is perfect and once my nails have been painted and even once the polish is dry, it gives off a liquidy molten metal appearance which has a lot of depth and shimmer to it. The gold tone is subtle and pretty, and because it is quite pale and neutral it is easily wearable and blends in with my normal everyday make-up look which is quite natural. The bronze shade is stunning and gives a real impact as the rich shade really stands out and is quite unusual. When I move my hands around the light picks up the shimmer of the nail polish and gives a really luxurious look.

I have noticed that it can be more prone to damage if submerged in hot water for long periods of time, for example when I'm taking a bath or washing the dishes. Aside from this the performance of this nail polish is nothing short of spectacular. I can get through a full week of wear with only the tiniest scuffs around the edges of my nails, and with a quick touch up I could easily extend the life of the polish without having to completely remove it and start again. This is truly one of the most durable nail polish brands that I've ever used.

My minis are at risk of running out quite quickly because I've been using nothing else since I received them - they really are that good! I've been alternating weekly between the gold and bronze shades and am still amazed by the quality of the metallic finish, it really is eye catching. I would thoroughly recommend The Medal Collection and will definitely look to get my hands on the full size versions once I've used up the smaller bottles. If you want a unique metallic coloured nail polish to update your look then Nail Girls have created the perfect metallic collection right here.
