I bought my Nailene French Manicure Set from Boots for about £5.80, as I had just taken off my acrylic nails and needed something to make my nails look pretty again.
When I got home I buffed my nails and filed them into a nice shape, ready for the french manicure to be applied.
I opened the packed and found 4 different little pots of varnishes, each one for its own purpose. The product also came with instructions, which was easy to understand and therefore easy to follow. How hard was it to follow some simple instructions?
I got the light pink pot - as this is the colour I wanted as my base and unscrewed it. When applying, this product was very easy to apply and did not blot and even dried pretty quickly! I then got out the tip guides, which are little stickers that you apply to your nail and paint with the white - to give the French Manicure look.
When applying the white tip I found it quite hard to get the polish to look even. When I took the tip off, it took some of the light pink paint off and therefore had to re-start! I wasnt too happy with this so tried another alternative. I tried applying the tip guide first and then applying the white. After that was dry, I would remove the tip guide and paint with the light pink colour. However this made the white... not so white!
I gave up in the end and just used the light pink for my toes. I really liked this colour on my toes as it gave them a natural look. After a few weeks of having this product I notice that the substance had started to get abit sticky and therefor abit lumpy when applying.
I wont be buying this product again.
I found this product very easy to use. This was one of the first do it yourself manicure kits I bought. I had no experience of doing a manicure, but with this kit it was very simple and the results were great. It lasted a good week and a half once done. The varnish was quick drying and was easy to put on. The kit comes with full instructions on how to use it, what colours to put on first then what colours to put on after etc, so it really is very simple, any one could do it. The prices on amazon are great to. I bought mine from a supermarket and I was A LOT more than £3/£4 for it! The bottles are also very handy smaller slim line sizes so they fit great into a make up bag or in your handbag so you can take them on the move with you. I used to take mine to work and do my nails at a lunchtime if I was maybe heading out afterwards. Once you get the hang of how to do the tips white its so easy. I would highly recommend this item.
