Advantages: Quick way of getting long nails

Disadvantages: Could see own nails underneath

I play a lot of sport including a team sport where I am not allowed to have long nails for safety reasons. There for if I want long nails for any occasion or when I have a lull in training I use false nails.

I recently had a lull in training and decided I wanted some false nails. I went to Boots and looked at the false nails. I noticed Nailene Real French because the nails where not too long and the package came with 24 nails in a variety of sizes so that they would fit most hands. As I have large hands this was important to me.

Kit

The nail kit contained-
24 varying sized nails
nail glue
wooden curticle stick
a plastic applicator tool
instructions

Application
===========
To apply the nails you first clean your hand and buff your nails. This allows the nails to stick to your fingers better. You then select the nails that fit your hands. You apply the glue to the nail and then stick the appropriately sized nail to your finger. You are suppose to use the plastic applicator tool to hold the nail down until the glue dries however I found this tool fiddly to use and used another finger as I always do.

You cannot apply the nails if your own nails or cuticles are infected or in bad shape in anyway.

Result
======
I had one problem with the nails. You could clearly see where my own nails stopped. Normally when you use false nails you cannot see this, and for this reason alone I wouldn't recommend them.

There was also a minor fault which was that the nails where slightly thicker at the end in the middle. This is a manufacturing fault as lots of false nails have tabs to rip off after you apply them but Nailene Real French doesn't have them.

Removal
=======
You can only wear the nails for 10 days maximum and therefore if they haven’t started to fall off in that time you must use acetone based nail vanish remover to remove the nails. You soak the nail in the remover for up to 10 minutes and the nail peels off.
