      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      Great fun

I enjoy painting and decorating my nails. As much as I wish I had more time, I try to do this at least once a fortnight ( usually when the kids are asleep ). Sometimes I just like a pop of colour, sometimes I want something alittle different. Either way, I keep an eye on different products, application techniques etc. This polish I bought from QVC. It came with a further 6 products and cost around £25.00 ( not including p and p ).

      Why did I buy it?

Ive actually done courses in nail art, where I have learnt to paint things such as flowers, butterflies, various patterns as at some point in the future I want to pursue a career in nails. As much as I love creating nail art it can be time consuming, and sometimes I just want my nails to look striking and different with minimal effect. This polish, when I saw it advertised in the set on QVC, I felt fitted the bill. Its fairly new from Nails Inc and I wanted to try it out, along with other polishes in the range.

      How is it packaged?

It comes in the usual Nails Inc 10ml glass bottle. Lid is silver in colour. The difference with this one is on the lid it has pictures of feathers in white all over it , and it actually has the word 'Feathers 'on the bottle directly underneath the ' Nails Inc ' logo.

How does it look in the bottle?

Sounds like a silly question to ask, but what you see in the bottle should give you an idea on what you will get on the nails. It looks like small thin lines/fibres of metal type particles, silver and black in colour. It looks like its suspended in a clear varnish as you cant see a block colour.

      How to apply

Apply base coat. When dried, put two coats of this polish on top ( make sure both coats are completely dry ). Finish with top coat.

      What do I think?

Firstly, when it comes to application, I personally pop this on the top of a base colour. Ive never put it directly on a standard clear base coat as I wanted the effect to be more striking and having a colour underneath means this effect really is grabbing depending on the colour you have chosen.
If you want something alittle more subtle one coat will do, but to have more particles on the nail to make it appear more denser two coats are needed.

Application is simple, but rather than paint across the nail as you would with a normal polish, it may help to dab the product alittle more on to the nail so the particles can be placed alittle more thicker and where you want them to be. It dries very quickly, so even if you have 2 layers on it wont take too much time to complete the look.

I tend to put this polish on top of Nails Inc Royal Botanical Gardens, which is a pale mint green colour. It compliments it so well, and you see all of these fab fibre looking type strands all over the nail which is unusual. I wouldn't quite describe the look as being feathers, but I get where they are coming from. I would still go with the description of thin strands of black and silver metal type particles, that when the silver bits are hit with light, almost look holographic and gives the polish a slight 3d effect.

Removing it is ok. Not quite as quick and easy as a normal coloured polish, but not hard like removing a glitter. Doesn't take too long but may need to apply a touch more pressure to ensure removal. Normal polish remover will do just fine, no need for anything special.

When applied and dried, it can have a slight textured feel to it even with top coat on. Some people may like it, some may not. Its also important that the particles don't just hang off the free edge of the nail, as they can catch on to things. Best thing to do is slightly file them if needed after application, then apply top coat to seal.

Why do I like this polish?

Its easy to apply. If you have an old colour on your nails and you want to change it up, but cant be bothered removing it and starting again, just pop this on and it makes it look completely different.

Its striking and not something I have seen before, and I do get compliments when wearing it.

Its great to experiment with different base colours as you will always get a slightly different look.

      Quick to dry.

Easy and quick way of getting a nail art effect with minimal effort.

Would I buy this again? Yes I would. They have different colours of this polish in regards to the particles in it, and some look like they are suspended in an actual coloured polish so I would be interested in trying that out. Individual cost from Nails Inc directly is £11.00 each, so I would buy a set from QVC as its always cheaper. As mentioned in past reviews polished never last long on me, but this provides alittle more or a hard wearing coat to the nail so quite pleased with that.

I don't feel this polish is for everyone. Its great for someone who likes bold and unusual looks on their nails regardless of age.
