For my birthday a few weeks ago, one of my sisters who lives quite far away, sent me a present containing a mini set of nails inc nail varnishes. She had previously bought me some nails inc varnish and I was so impressed by the quality and the durability of the product. As my daughter gets older, I get a little more time to paint my nails than I did when she was tiny, however, I don't want a varnish that is going to chip within a day which some cheaper varnishes do, as my hands are continually in and out of water and with running after an active toddler, my hands and nails are hard hit during the course of a day. I didn't realise until the first time my sister bought me this brand of varnish that it was so expensive, as when I looked, even in the likes of TK Maxx, this is not a cheap brand, but in this case, you pay for what you get. One of the varnishes in the set is this Jermyn Street Taupe Polish, which was the first of the polishes from the set that I tried, simply because on the evening of my birthday when my husband and I went out for dinner, it was a perfect match for the taupe I was wearing. A bottle of this colour, which apparently is one of nails inc best selling polishes, can cost around £11 in some top retailers like House of Fraser, although I do think it is slightly cheaper in the likes of TK Maxx if you can find it. This taupe colour is a very neutral natural colour, which to be honest, would go with any outfit, and is ideal for any setting. I wore it out for dinner, and I also wore it to a wedding last week, and it looked very classy. I also thought it went particularly well when you had a nice tan - with the much warmer summer that we have had, in comparison to the usual, I have picked up a nice natural tan and this looked perfect with my tanned arms at the wedding I attended. Apart from the natural colour, one of the other best things about this polish is its durability as I mentioned at the beginning. I was impressed with the other nails inc polish my sister had previously bought me and this one is no different. I could wear this colour for at least 5 days before seeing signs of fading or flaking, and that is with me doing plenty of domestic activities. If you aren;t doing a lot of domestic activities and for example are wearing it on holiday then you may even get a week out of this polish on your nails. All in all, this is a brilliant varnish from nails inc. This really is a brilliant brand of nail varnish and in my opinion if you are using a lot of varnish, then it is worth paying the extra for this quality, as it will last longer than the cheaper varieties, and also I find one coat is enough with the likes of this colour so you aren't having to use just as much. A great, neutral colour that goes with everything!
I have always been drawn to nails inc products. I really like the packaging, the names of the colours and the colours themselves. At around £10.50 a bottle I have always thought it a little extravagant, but a little while ago I decided to finally treat myself. Really, I wish I had saved my money. The product: I have always liked the look of this brand, the simple bottles with quite chunky lids always look appealing. I have always thought the the simple look means the product is good enough to not need quirky packaging. I like things plain and simple. I also like the fact that you can see the colour through the bottle, and the colour really is a good representation of what it looks like on the nail (I hate the little acrylic nails you get in some shops with the colour on which looks nothing like the end result!). This colour is a nice taupe type colour and I picked it as an everyday colour which would go with most outfits so it wouldn't need to be changed every day. Application: The bottle opened easily and the brush inside the lid was a nice size and made well. I have found with cheaper brands you sometimes get the odd strand from the brush falling off. This didn't happen at all. The polish went on well and covered evenly, but it is definitely worth applying a second coat. The final appearance was a nice quality matt look. Final outcome: Whilst the application was good and the colour looked nice I was a bit disappointed with the staying power of this product. Every time I have used it it has chipped badly within 24 hours, even after using powerful top coats. The colour is fab, the finish is nice but I really expect a premium product like this to last for more than 24 hours. Cheaper alternatives last much longer and so ultimately I have found the product disappointing. If there is a colour you particularly like it could be worth it if you only need it for one night as the colours are really good.
Ok so Nail Inc have some lovely colors! And you would think that, since this varnish is circa £10-£12, that they would have a lovely, long lasting finish too - not so ladies!! As with any polish you need to add a couple of coats to achieve the colour in the bottle, this polish initially goes on like very cheap water-colour paint. After the second coat it looks quite lovely actually. Generally, assuming i have the time, i seal with a clear top coat - as we all know we should - to lock the color firmly on our nails and prolong the inevitable period before the color chips. I was sooo disappoint with this! Both with and without the top coat this bad-boy CHIPS! and i mean CHIPS, not a tiny bit on the edge, but whopping great chucks. I though that it was because i had been over zealous and applied too thickly, so the next evening, i took it off, buffed my nails, prepared my canvas (so to speak) and tried again, this time with less varnish. Same thing happening. Also, i must point out that this "wear and tear" was not from typing, clearing, tapping my nails on a surface, it literally had a mind of its own. Without any knowledge of bangs and bumps i happened to glace at my nails (approx 2 hours after applications) and they looked like nails in desperate need of a manicure. Sorely disappointed indeed! This is not worth the money you will pay, don't even bother girls.
I'd originally seen similar coloured nail polishes on my regular Saturday shopping trips with friends and always wanted to try something 'neutral' but was never brave enough to do so. I noticed a colleague wearing a shiny, neutral, almost taupe nail polish, it was love at first sight. Immediately I wanted to know the brand and colour so I could purchase a bottle, with the information to hand I took the plunge. I proceeded with a purchase from a high street store and at £10.50 a bottle knew it had to be something special. Rushing home I couldn't wait to try my new treat. The polish is thick and rich in colour, it is important to note that all Nails Inc polishes are non drip; very handy for when you don't have much time. Given the consistency of the polish I would happily recommend that a maximum of two coats is required, especially since it takes no time at all to dry. The polish itself lasts longer than other brands, with chips appearing 2-3 days after application. The colour matches perfectly to the pictures shown at online retailers and is subtle enough for everyday glamour and finish. I found the shine didn't last as long as the wear but with a few coats of see through polish my nails looked as though they'd been freshly painted. Whilst the colour, longevity and the practically of the nail polish is second to none, my only objection to a wonderful product is the bottle that the polish is contained within. The bottle is glass and lid a shiny silver plastic, whilst the packaging is superb, the opening of such a product can be quite difficult upon first opening and when you require the reuse of it. The lid can become rather stiff. Additionally, the bottle of polish requires quite a few shakes to prevent splitting before application, however once shaken, the polish goes on smooth and evenly. Overall, this is a great brand nail polish that certainly lives up to its reputation - the colour match is superb and the quality (aside from the lid) is fantastic. I love the colour of this product so much that I have since ventured out and explored new colours as well as sticking to my good old Jermyn Street friend; I would definitely recommend this product to anyone - you definitely get what you pay for with this product!
I love painting my nails, but due to my job being in health care I am not allowed to wear nail polish to work. I therefore really enjoy painting my nails at the weekend for a treat, and prefer to have a few selective but high quality nail polishes. I purchased this Nails Inc polish in the Jermyn Street shade for the price of £11 from my local Boots. The shade is a dark taupe colour, it is a natural shade that goes with all colours of clothing, and for this reason I bought it thinking I could wear it all weekend with different outfits. The polish comes in a clear, round glass bottle with a silver lid. The polish has the Nails Inc logo on the front of the bottle. The bottle is of high quality and looks stylish and classy. The nail polish brush is a standard polish brush, but I do find it to be a little thinner than some other nail polishes I have owned. While many nail polish brushes will spread out allowing you to paint the whole nail in one sweep, I find it takes 2-3 sweeps in the middle of the nail and each corner with the Nails Inc brush. The brush is smooth and does not leave any marks on the polish. It is easy to get a tidy finish with the brush. I found that with one coat of this polish, the colour looked slightly patchy and uneven. After a second coat however, the colour was even and was the exact shade it looked through the bottle. I was pleased with the shade of the polish and found that it was exactly what I was expecting. It dries nice and shiny which i love. After carefully painting 2 coats of polish and allowing it to dry, my nails looked gorgeous. However I am disappointed to report that within a few hours of wearing the polish, it started to chip. The chipping continued and within 24 hours the polish looked awful, I had to remove it and re-apply. I was thoroughly unhappy with this as for such a top of the range polish, I would expect it to last a little longer than this. Perhaps if I had applied a clear top coat the polish would have lasted longer, however I simply cannot be bothered with any more than 2 coats of polish when painting my nails. In the past I have used plenty of other cheaper nail polish brands that did not chip as quickly even with only one coat. For the price of this product, I would have expected a longer lasting polish. For the reasons above, I am giving the Nails Inc product just 2 stars. It is not something I would be buying again! Thanks for reading/rating, I hope you enjoyed my review.
I received this nail varnish a while ago. It was a birthday present and came in a set of 4 beautiful varnishes. I love painting my nails and was thrilled to have received this as a gift, particularly as I know that Nails Inc have a great reputation and are a little on the pricey side. So, the product I am reviewing is a full size 10ml bottle. It is, as per the photo, a clear bottle which shows through the lovely colour of the 'Jermyn Street' varnish and the top half is a chunky silver coloured lid. I find the Nails Inc bottles very attractive and am getting quite a collection now! Jermyn Street is a kind of taupe/mushroom colour, and I have to admit, I wasn't convinced by it at first. I used all of the other shades that came in my set, leaving trying this one out until last. It's not that I didn't like it, it's just very different to my usual pinks, corals and purples that I normally wear. The lid simply unscrews to reveal a brush attached to the centre of the lid, which is the perfect size for applying this product. As with all Nails Inc varnishes, it goes on very easily - I do always wear a base layer of clear, which helps as well. I used 2 coats as it's quite a pale colour and I really wanted to ensure it lasted. I finished off with another coat of clear and I was ready to go. It dried relatively quickly and doesn't smell any more than any other normal kind of nail varnish. The end result was beautiful and I was amazed at just how much I loved the colour. I found that as it was a kind of 'nude' colour, it made my fingers look longer and just looked stunning on. I had so many compliments when I wore this nail varnish, everyone was asking me what it was. I found that I couldn't stop looking at my nails as it was just so lovely! The varnish lasted well and I managed to get a week's wear out of it without too much damage atall. It lasted a lot better than most of my other, cheaper products. I have just had a look on the Debenhams website at the prices and I believe that the pack of 4 I got was priced at £25. Individual pots of polish are £11 each. This is much more than I would usually choose to spend on a nail varnish, although they do last really well and have a fantastic range of colours. After lots of experience of nail varnishes, I can easily say that it is clear to see Nails Inc are worth the extra that they cost as the quality shows. I have recently learned that TK Maxx sometimes sell Nails Inc polishes, so it may be worth checking as you could get a bargain. Overall, I would thoroughly recommend Nails Inc in general, and Jermyn Street more specifically. It's a lovely coloured polish which is of great quality. A little pricey, but worth the investment to have a few colours to treat yourself every now and again. Or you could always ask for it for a birthday pressie...
I bought this online from the nails inc website because i had heard a lot of hype regarding the Nails inc brand. At £10.50, it was quite expensive so i was expecting great things from it. It took a couple of days to arrive and this is my experience upon using it. BOTTLE The bottle is glass and has a silver lid which is quite big. On the front is the official 'nails inc' logo alongside the shade i had chosen which was of course Jermyn Street. The bottle is just as heavy as the average bottle of nail polish and being glass, the bottle never felt hot, it always felt like the perfect temperature, which for me was perfect because the last thing i want is a product which attracts heat! To open the bottle was quite stiff obviously so that it didn't leak in transit. COLOUR The colour is described on the website as a 'soft taupe' which is exactly what it is. When the polish arrived i expected it to differ slightly from the picture, like most do, but this was actually on the button. BRUSH The brush for this is an average medium size. It isn't like the OPI brush where it is quite thick, this brush is probably the width of half a nail. Which for me is idyllic. I am yet to notice any shredding of the brush fibers, its a durable brush which i can almost guarantee you will never have to replace. THE ACTUAL POLISH I always check the texture of a polish before i apply it so that i know how much time i need to allocate to apply it (in case i need two or even three coats). This Nails Inc polish is thick but not gloopy, and is non drip. A lot of us won't need to apply a second coat, but if you do, the polish dries completely within 3/4 minutes and a second coat would really make it an opaque colour. The colour is very highly pigmented which was great for me because i have nail discolouration. As for chipping, i noticed some minor chipping after 2 days, which is quite good considering i use my hands a lot. VERDICT For me, the Nails Inc Jermyn Street, is literally right up my street. It may be expensive, but i guarantee it is not a product you will ever need to throw away! its more likely you'll need to buy a new bottle because you've used all the product! i have already bought more colours from Nails Inc, and Jermyn Street is still my favourite!
WHAT IS IT? A Nails Inc nail polish in a dark taupe shade. The shade name is Jermyn Street and it is a dark but neutral shade. APPLICATION This polish has the same brush as all Nails Inc polishes so it is very easy to apply. The polish is thick and smooth so applies straight and evenly, I always find it easy to get a tidy and professional finish with this polish and this is because the brush is so sturdy and well shaped. I use two coats because it doesn't need more and a third coat doesn't add to the colour, Jermyn Street takes a minute and a half to dry enough for a second coat and the top coat takes two or three minutes to fully harden. WHAT I THINK I think highly of Nails Inc and this polish has not disappointed me. This was free with Glamour magazine and it has been a good free gift because I have almost finished this bottle and am going to buy another. The colour when applied is the same as in the bottle and looks best with tanned skin and a smart clutch bag. It does not chip easily and with two coats forms a strong layer on my nails. Small chips can be repaired but anything larger will look very obvious. The finish is glossy but not too shiny, I like this because I have the option of applying a top cost if I want extra shine. I like how easy the polish is to apply and since I bought a bottle to offer as part of my bridal make overs I have seen several brides choose this neutral shade for their nails and also their bridesmaids. It looks especially right with an ivory dress and can be brightened up with nail art if you need extra colour or texture. ANYTHING ELSE Jermyn Street nail polish costs £11. 5 Dooyoo Stars.
I am extremely passionate when it comes to everything beauty related. I am an avid user of nail varnish and seriously enjoy the artistic creation every beauty obsessed person can get involved with. I am a snob when it comes to nail varnish. I tend not to buy from the high street, much prefer higher end nail varnishes, such as nails inc. I must have about 300 polishes from nails inc and have my very own admiration for each. Jermyn Street is my favourite. This colour is soo versatile. I have worn it in summer, autumn and winter! It is such a pretty delicate and femine colour that I believe every lady can pull off. It has easy application, as does every other nails inc polish, but this is something else. It exudes class and has a professional feel when sported. I feel that this colour would look good on ANY skin tone all throughout the year. Although nails inc is quite pricey, you get what you pay for. I dont mind spending that little extra if it means I am able to look good and pampour myself with class.
I usually get my Nails Inc Polishes, including this taupe colour, free in magazines as I know they are pretty expensive buying them normally. I also use some of my friends sometimes as she has much brighter fun colours to choose from. I used to always think nail polish was polish, the only difference were the colours and brands. I've always been a user of Barry M and since using Nails Inc (and a few other expensive brands of my friends) you really get what you pay for. Often with Nails Inc polishes I only need one coat for a decent colour, if they are lighter shades they may need two but this is still better than Barry M which usually requires 2 or 3 and is really gloopy and thick in comparison to Nails Inc. I also really like the bottle shape of Nails Inc as they actually look more expensive and show the colour off better in the style they are designed as. The brushes are middle sized and seem to be made of a better material than other polishes which is where you can really tell how good they are because application is so much easier and precise. The colour also lasts a lot longer and takes ages to chip, if it does at all! Usually I say with products such as this that the cheaper is better because it's near enough the same however you with Nails Inc you can really see the difference and your nails have a better quality and if you're good as filing nails to a nice shape it could almost look professional because of the smooth finish that's easily achieved. Recommend! Definately worth the price tag!
The Nails Inc range of polishes are my absolute favourite. My husband bought me a large box containing five colours, base coat, top coat and a large file. Heavenly. I don't usually paint my fingernails as my hands are constantly in water and I can't cope when it chips, but I always have painted toenails. This colour, Jermyn Street is the one I can't live without. Nails Inc describe the colour as taupe but I would call it mink. It's just a gorgeous neutral colour which goes with everything and people are always asking me what it's called when I wear it. It looks equally good in the winter or with a tan in summer and seems to really flatter my skin colour. With nude, peep toe heels it is stunning. The range is mid-priced, around £11 each if you buy them separately, but better value in a set if you can afford to splash out and I have replaced this colour several times, as I used the one in my box set up quite quickly. I find that if I use the base coat, then two coats of colour, followed by a top coat the finish is really good and lasts easily for two to three weeks. The base coat stops the colour from staining your nails too. The brush is quite wide so the polish goes on in three strokes and dries quickly. Just a great product, it's easy to see why it is so popular.
I actually first received this shade as a giveaway in glamour magazine but with it's wearability it has quickly become a staple of mine. Described as a 'soft taupe' this is a very classic neutral colour - think a dark grey nude that looks smart and classic, yet is still a little bit different. The picture provided on the nails inc website shows it as darker than it actually is - it is lighter and more wearable. Had I just seen the picture on the website I doubt I would have purchased it. As with all nails inc polishes the quality is good ; opacity in one coat and a shine finish. Stands up well without topcoat. Mine has dried up and gone quite thick quickly which I know can be a problem with nails inc polishes if allowed to air too much. Overall worth the price and I will repurchase.
This is a review of Nails Inc Jermyn Street Soft Taupe Nail Polish. I am on my second bottle of this particular colour now so it must be working well for me! I am a big sucker for Nails Inc poish, as I think I have mentioned before, although its expensive, it goes on best and stays on longest for me. Description Jermyn Street is described as a soft taupe but I think it's a very wearable dark natural colour. Without sounding weird, it's like a dark foundation colour and a neutral colour that I never get bored of. It goes with everything so won't cause wardrobe worries either. Packaging As with all Nails Inc varnish, you get the glass pot which shows the colour through and the silver lid which has a brush attached inside. In use I always start with a good file and prep of the nails, make sure they are clean of old nail varnish and then I use the Nails Inc Caviar Base coat which is a misted pink colour but goes on quite clear. It nourishes the nail and protects it and I think it helps prolong the life of the colour. Next up one coat of Jermyn Street gives adequate colour so I rarely use two coats. Once dry, I add the Caviar top coat which is also fast drying so I don't have to sit around waiting for my nails to dry. The final touch is nail oil to nourish the nail bed and gloss up that varnish. I get a really wet look from most Nails Inc polishes and Jermyn Street is included in that with a shiny bit of help from the top coat. I tend to find 3-4 days is the maximum wear I get from most colours before I get chip or end of nail wear then the lot has to come off as I can't stand tatty nails. My thoughts I really like this colour as it quite neutral but smartens up nails and covers any imperfections. I like to wear nail varnish as I think it helps keep my nails protected although I do regularly remove it and have a few days in between with bare nails. Price and availability Nails Inc Polish retails at £11 a bottle and this sounds quite expensive. If you check their counters at seasonal times they often have sets which offer better value for money. Final word Jermyn Street is a favourite 'go to' polish if I have an important event or a job interview and I want to look smart but not 'look at me' with bright colours. I use this colour a lot and like that it is a mature and shiny neat finish. I would recommend this colour as a good staple for your varnish collection and would add that it is a very high quality and consistent product. You can't go wrong with Jermyn Street.
