Advantages: Colour

Disadvantages: Brush, lid, texture, coverage (in fact everything)

Last month I brought a magazine and got a pot of Nails Inc - Coral nailvarnish free (really nice summer colour).

The Nails Inc nailvarnishes come in 10ml and usually cost £10.00 (maybe cheaper of e-bay), but can be brought direct or from boots, debenhams etc. It comes in clear glass bottle so you can see the colour through the bottle (like all nailvarnishes) and has a silver screw top lid with the brush attached. On the front of the bottle is Nails Inc - London, and on the back is 10ml - and Nails Inc address and website (in small writing).

Now I am usually a Rimmel girl through and through, as I am a swimming teacher I find they wear really well, last, and the colours are great (see review written previously).

So I was actually quite interested to see what a £10.00 bottle of nail varnish could do.

On opening the bottle I noticed that the brush stick and brush (attached to lid) is quite short - not much room for manoeuvre.

Anyway on applying the nailvarnish I found the consistency very runny and and it spread without me actually using the brush (this is not a good thing), so I was constantly going round with a cotton bud to get it of my skin. I also found the coverage was not that great either, as with my rimmel I only need to apply one coat to get good coverage although I do apply two. But this Nails Inc I had to apply 3 coats. I also never knew I had bumps or dips in my nails I always thought they were smooth but this nailvarnish highlighted the bumps in my toenails (you live and learn) - and when dried you could still see the bumps they kind of turned into grey lines within the nailvarnish.

As I said earlier the brush did not give much room for manouver as the lid is too big and the brush and stick too short, I am glad I was only painting my toenails and not my fingers as ladies (maybe guys) we all know how difficult it is to paint one of our hands compared to the other.

Once I had fully applied I let each coat dry before applying the next and the nail varnish is very slow to dry, to do my toenails it must of taken me about 30-40 mins to paint (it was like watching paint dry).

I have to say the nailvarnish has not yet chipped and I have had it on for four days - so maybe it has a bit of staying power (time will tell).

The only real good thing about this nailvarnish was the colour, I will keep it until finished but I have to say I would never actually buy this nail varnish. I am really glad it come free with a magazine or I would have felt really ripped off. The £10.00 price tag is extortion and you are just paying for a name, why spend £10 when you can get better quality from Rimmel for around £3.00.

Summary: Why spend £10.00 when you can spend £3.00 and get better quality
