Nails Inc. Nail Varnish in General
Advantages: Doesn't chip easily, only one coat needed, lots of shades available.
Nails inc. London is a brand of a wide selection of nail polishes, all of which can be found on their website. There are far too many to list all of them here, and the names of the shades don't really tell you what colour they are either.
The shade I am reviewing is 'Piccadilly Circus' which is a red/pink colour, or at least I thought it was! Looking at the bottle the shade really does look like a dark pink nearly red colour, but after applying to my nails in some lights my nails actually look purple.
The only reason I own this is because at the moment they are free with Glamour magazine. I think there are four colours available to choose from, these being the one I currently have and two different shades of red and also a nude/taupe colour. I cannot remember the exact names of the shades. I have never actually bought Nails inc nail polish before though simply for the price. These cost £11 for a 10ml bottle which I think is expensive for a nail polish, especially compared to other brands. Other brands may not have as many colours to choose from as Nails inc, but I can usually find a colour I am after from a much cheaper brand and so opt for that instead.
I have never even been curious to try out this brand of nail polish to see why it is quite highly priced as I have always thought nail polishes are pretty much the same and will chip at some point etc. However, as it was free with Glamour magazine and knowing how much they usually cost, I couldn't resist! I haven't bought any more copies of Glamour for the other colours due to them all being a similar shade... unfortunately! Glamour magazine costs £2 and so if you like Nails inc but not the magazine, it may still be worth purchasing the magazine just for the nail polish. It will be available on the shelves for around another two weeks until the next issue comes out.
I firstly tried this nail polish out on my toenails. I wanted to see what the colour looked like first before applying it on my finger nails. I really liked it and the shade is very nice for autumn/winter. Usually nail polish doesn't last very long on my nails without becoming chipped and so I was very surprised when a few days later there wasn't a chip in sight! A few days later I applied this to my finger nails and I still have that same coat on now, only a couple have chipped slightly but by now I would usually have a lot more chips than this and would need to remove it! I am very impressed with the results of this nail polish and especially after just one coat.
I do usually apply two coats when applying nail polish but this isn't really necessary with this one, at least with this particular shade. I am not sure if lighter shades will need more than one coat as I have realised with other brands they often do.
The only thing I was surprised about was on a night time under the lights the colour of my nails looked purple and not a hint of pink or red. I have since been on the nails inc website and the piccadilly shade is actually under the purple shades section.
Like I mentioned before this is priced at £11 which I do think is a lot for a nail polish. It does gave amazing results and the fact that only one coat is needed will make it last longer than others, I still cannot bring myself to pay £11 for one unless I really liked the colour and a similar shade wasn't available from any cheaper brands. So yes, I may buy a Nails inc polish again, but the price is the only thing that puts me off this product!
These are available online directly from the Nails Inc. website and various other retailers such as ASOS.com, Debenhams, House of Fraser and Boots. ASOS.com are currently doing gift sets of these where you can get several bottles and it works out a lot cheaper.
Summary: One of the best nail varnishes I have used... but comes at a price.
