Nails Inc. Shoreditch Polish
Advantages: Great colour, Great quality, lasts well
Disadvantages: The price!!
When it comes to nail varnish, I tend to wear quite natural looking colours on my fingers, but I like bright, bold colours on my toe nails, especially during the summer months when my feet are on show more often.
My favourites are reds and pinks, and I tend to purchase quite cheap nail varnishes as although they chip quicker, I don't find it much hassle to re-apply it so I don't see the point on paying a fortune for decent nail varnish. However, I did receive a Nails Inc set of four nail varnishes for Christmas last year.
As said, I wouldn't normally purchase something of this standard as looking at the price of these, you generally tend to pay around £11.00 for a small 10ml bottle of these nail varnishes and I just couldn't justify the price, though they do have quite a fabulous range of colours available. Within my set I got 'shoreditch' which is a rather vibrant pink colour.
Out of the set I got, this is the colour I have used the most and my toe nails were pretty much coated in it during the summer months. This is a bit too much for me on my fingernails, but it really does look great on toe nails.
The colour is a rather vivid hot pink and is a really bold colour with a slight gloss to it. With the right shoes in the summer, this colour looks great and really adds a bit of glamour to your toes. Although I can't personally justify the price of this, I can see why they are more expensive as the colour doesn't look cheap and tacky as some hot pinks would and also this lasts for ages before it starts chipping.
I tend to need to touch general nail varnish up after 4-5 days, but this one lasted a good week and a half before I needed to do some proper maintenance on it which I thought was extremely good and showed its quality.
The colour itself is quite thick and therefore you only need one coat of colour and I have also found that with a nail varnish as good as this, you don't need a base or top coat either to seal the colour. I have found that three sweeps with the brush (one sweep down the middle, one to the left of the nail and one to the right to cover the entire nail and you get a good, even coverage over the entire nail.
When it does come to removing the varnish, it does take a good nail varnish remover to get rid of all traces as because it is such good quality, it doesn't come away from the nail too easily so it is a bit of a task to completely rid the nail of all colour.
Overall, I really love the colours this range offers and the nail varnish itself is excellent quality, unmatched in my opinion. However, with the price being £11.00 per colour, this range is generally out of my price range so I would either have to rely on receiving these as gifts or look to find a special offer which would take some weight off the cost for me to be able to afford these.
If money isn't an object for you then I would highly recommend this range for the quality of the nail varnish but the cost is an issue for me, hence these lose a star from what would otherwise be a five star rating.
Summary: A great nail varnish but it comes at a price
