Advantages: Great glossy finish
Disadvantages: price
This is a review of 'The Thames' a nail polish by Nails Inc. This polish is a deep grey colour and it applies with a cream glossy finish. Grey would not normally be a colour of nail varnish I'd normally buy but it came in a set at Christmas that was titled 'The Runway Collection' and this shade was stickered and highlighted as one of Nails Inc Hero shades which means it's one of their most popular colours.
In use
The polish applies thickly and I always apply with a base coat to protect my nails from staining with a dark colour. I think it also helps the removal process to be a bit easier. One coat gives good enough coverage but I usually apply two for the best finish with a quick drying top coat. The colour is classy and the finish is remarkably glossy with a wet look glassy feel that Nails Inc seem to achieve so much better than other brands.
My thoughts
As I said earlier, I would never usually go for a grey nail colour but this has totally changed my mind on the subject. I love this colour on my nails and will be using it lots. I also tried it with a glitter top coat and it looked nice this way as well. Removal of the colour was easy with no staining of the nail or cuticle.
Price
Nails Inc polishes are not cheap and obviously they are more expensive to buy individually at £11 each but the sets work out a little cheaper. I know they are expensive but they are my favourite make and I have only found a few that I didn't like along the way.
Final word
I'm glad I got this colour in a set as I used it to try it out and see what the colour looked like. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice it looked and feel it is a forgiving shade that works on long or short nails. It also goes with most clothes, posh or casual and any colour virtually will suit this shade of nails. I probably won't use it on my toes as I prefer brighter shades for toes but will stick to fingers with this colour. I can see why it is called a hero shade and totally recommend it for other fans of Nails Inc.
Summary: Better than I expected!
