“ Brand: Nars / Type: Foundation „
Nars Sheet Matte foundation is an oil free skin product that will give you a matte complexion. It promises to continually control oil and shine throughout the day while providing you with a sheer coverage. As well as all that, the product promises to leave you with brighter, healthier and softer skin thanks to a complexion brightening formula.
As well as working as a normal foundation, when used daily, it can improve the overall health of your skin. The product has been specifically designed for people with normal to oily skin and can help brighten the complexion and improve the condition of your skin. As this product has been dermatologically tested and is fragrance free, it is suitable for use on sensitive skins.
The product comes in a frosted glass bottle with a black lid. Unfortunately the glass is heavy so it takes up more of my valuable luggage weight allowance than previous foundations that I've used. The foundation is available in a vast number of shades, all of which are named after different places across the world including Barcelona, Mont Blanc and Fiji. Each bottle costs around £30 and can be bought from most large department stores and many online websites.
This foundation is lovely because it doesn't cover your face with a mask of make up. It has a sheer consistency which simply enhances what you already have. It is an incredibly light formula which glides onto the skin beautifully.
One of the things I hate about foundations is finding one that is the right colour for your skin. Even when you have help from a beauty consultant, you very rarely leave with the correct colour. I even had a beauty consultant who did a colour match over the top of foundation that I was already wearing! Because this is fairly sheer, it is easier to get one that looks natural on my skin.
This product definitely keeps my skin more oil free than any other foundation I've tried. It stops my skin becoming shiny and looking greasy for hours. It hasn't caused any blemishes to appear, even on my spot prone skin and my skin looks healthier. Even when it's removed my skin feels softer as this foundation contains a lot of moisturising ingredients.
The only negative with this product, other than the price, is that because of its sheer nature, it won't cover many of your blemishes so you'll need to use a concealer as well. I also use a mattifying powder on top to make sure I stay oil free for longer. All in all, a great foundation that cares for your skin and keeps you shine free for hours.

I purchased this foundation on a whim whilst shopping with my boyfriend after getting fed up of waiting to be served at the busy Mac counter, and boy am I happy I made the switch! I used to use Mac Studio Fix Fluid in NW15, and have switched to Nars Oil Free Foundation in Mont Blanc (the second palest shade).
Although I had been matched to the mac shade by a makeup artist, I have found the Nars foundation blends more naturally with my skin. The Mac foundation had a tendency to look slightly artificial and "doll like", but the Nars product looks much more natural on my skin. The coverage is buildable, which means I can wear a small amount on the good areas of my skin, and still not compromise on coverage over my T-zone.
The staying power is excellent, when I use it with my Mac primer and a finishing powder, I can do a full day at work or uni and then go out for drinks in the evening without having to touch up. A little extra finishing powder at the end of the afternoon and I am good to go until bedtime.
There are two main drawbacks.
1. The price (£30!!) I didn't ask the price before deciding to make the purchase, and I probably wouldn't have bought it if I had known. I don't regret buying it though because the quality is so good.
2. The bottle I purchased didn't come with a pump top, so I have had to pay extra to buy one to fit. The shape of the glass bottle means a lot of product would be inacessible without this extra purchase.
